Actually now that I think about it, we didn't even we get what we wanted. We just managed to break down the employer after over a year of them trying to do surface bargaining on us.

I feel this. My union had a leader who'd been around for over a decade with an employer who was relatively happy to work with the union until a new boss was hired who wouldn't play ball. We ultimately got what we wanted, but it was more in spite of him than because of him. We've got a new leader now
