Last night was interesting. Our ship’s holiday party was at a club downtown. It made me realize how old I am. But I was extremely happy to see all my Sailors enjoying themselves and had to good sense to bow out at a reasonable time. Great job by the MWR team setting it up.

This week has reminded me about what I love and hate commanding a warship. The love part, engaging with and watching Sailors grow. It’s truly why I keep coming back. I got to have small groups with my JOs and got to commission a LDO. It’s what I will miss when this my last ship tour is over.
