A stunning Bronze age axe heard made of an orangey stone with greenish flecks
A slice of blue cheese. It's orangey in colour with flecks of blue-green mould.
Is it about time that someone told @wiltshiremuseum.bsky.social that their "Tourmaline stone axe" is actually made of cheese?

A bird's-eye view of a former Auschwitz II-Birkenau camp showing a wide dirt pathway flanked by parallel rows of barbed-wire fences. Groups of visitors walk along the path, surrounded by the remnants of brick structures and barracks, now reduced to foundations. Green grass contrasts with the somber history of the site, as the path leads toward a guard tower in the distance.
Auschwitz was at the end of a process. We must remember that it did not start from gas chambers.
This hatred gradually developed: from ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.
Auschwitz took time.

THE DREAM
Someone approaches to say his life is ruined
and to fall down at your feet
and pound his head upon the sidewalk.
Blood spreads in a puddle.
And you, in a weak voice, plead
with those nearby for help;
your life takes on his desperation.
He keeps pounding his head.
It is you who are fated;
and you fall down beside him.
It is then you are awakened,
the body gone, the blood washed from the ground,
the stores lit up with their goods.

A photograph of a page in a book. It's a poem called "LITERARY LUNCHEON: IOWA CITY". The lines are mostly quite short except for the one about the river, which is part of the poem's punch. Text as follows:
According to the windows that face the slow-spilling brown river we are sipping not our coffee but blizzard winds that surprise us rolling from the north.
Still-bare trees are slowly colored white and the earth implies this is the source of the cold I feel.
Not so.
The great ones gather
at the university buffet
like cattle around
alfalfa and barley.
I maintain without willing it an Indian invisibility.
Feeling seen, maybe a little bit gently condemned ๐ซค
