Lauren Boebert is probably the most non-elite member of the GOP in Congress (high school dropout, series of blue-collar jobs, etc.), if we want to be strict about it. And note that that didn't impart virtue on her.

Greene is a small business tyrant! She went to UGA! Her father passed down his general contracting company to her. She's the archetypal local elite who often winds up in Republican politics.

No, he made an unsupported assertion. He did not use evidence. That the Trump administration made an ad and claims it was decisive doesnβt make it so.

at this point you have to acknowledge that there is no way that these guys don't try to mess with the 2026 midterms. there is absolutely no respect for the legitimacy of the opposition

A screenshot of a video is a pretty big tell because it means the audience can't actually play the video to see if it contradicts the summary. Disappointing.

Watters is bad enough that there's no need to make stuff up. This correction has nothing to do with Judge Goodstein.

I'm a little confused. How do retention elections determine control of the court? In most states, losing a retention election means the governor appoints a replacement, and Shapiro is a Democrat.

Oh, totally. What I think we are on track for is kind of a 2006-2008 repeat, with 2026 being the normal thermostatic backlash and 2028 being the one where the bottom really falls out.

I think theyβre doomed to the midterms, but not because of the shutdown. Theyβre weighed down by an incredibly unpopular president and poor economic numbers.

And the thing is that, while extending the ACA subsidies will probably prevent the *worst* midterm outcome for them, everything else is still happening. Nothing is going to make the more popular between now and then.

I know that the state's Democrats absolutely did not want Option C when it's pretty easy to create a safe Democratic seat in Salt Lake City. But I also feel confident McAdams could at least win an R+2 district. We'll see what the judge decides.

How was Sanders kneecapped by the DNC in 2020? He intentionally ran with the idea that he'd get only a plurality because he assumed the moderates would remain split. When they consolidated, he didn't have a backup plan. That's not being kneecapped. That's just losing.

I also don't think it was edgy. If you grant the premise that gender-affirming care is necessary health care, then prisoners are entitled to that health care.

Seems like they're tempting the judge to strike down the map and impose one of her choice, because as far as I can tell, this one might have *one* competitive district in a blue wave year but is otherwise still four Republican districts.

This is bad and not backed up by any data. At least when the new ACIP recommended splitting MMR + V that was backed by some evidence for better safety and it was already basically clinical practice to give them as 2 separate injections. Separating MMR into 3 shots will just reduce compliance
