Once again the comments are full of people accusing this farmer of voting for Trump. He didn't and he has plenty to say about it.

Jeez

Right out of the gate sheโ€™s flubbing this

You say โ€œI think my message resonates with all voters. I think everyone cares about Blah Blah and that I can appeal to everyone with that messageโ€

Remember when Mitt Romney tried to claim hotdogs were his favorite food or when Obama tried to complain about the price of arugula?

They donโ€™t know how to talk like normal people and itโ€™s always been a problem. Obama managed to escape the consequences because people loved his soaring speeches

Their consultants donโ€™t know how to sound like normal people either

Itโ€™s not fixable because in order to become an elite political consultant you have to abandon your roots and become a generic elite college graduate with all the cultural norms that entails

Trump is considering relief/bailouts for famers and carmakers who are being ruined by his tariffs.

Now riddle me this:

Why does a country need relief from an economic strategy he promised would make us great?

You got played, chumps.

We canโ€™t cut costs without SOMEONE losing income

Why not take a big piece of that from some of the richest people in the country?

Physician Pay Makes Up About 8% of Total Healthcare Costs Physician compensation accounts for roughly 8% of the total annual healthcare costs in the U.S., and more than a third of physician pay comes from fixed sources, such as a flat salary, hourly rate or ...

www.medicaleconomics.com/view/physici...

At least 8% goes to physician salaries with more going to overpaid support staff as well

If we had Canadian medical salaries weโ€™d cut costs across the board by hundreds of billions of dollars

American doctors are overpaid

8-10% of total U.S. health care costs go to physician salaries

The low cost models are quite useful for a variety of niche applications

Most people donโ€™t know how to extract value from these models but they will learn over time

Okay and how does that situation change if Joe MAGA sells his farm to some REIT?

It doesnโ€™t

Theyโ€™re totally unrelated

Letting a few thousand wealthy small business owners lose their farms to some other investors doesnโ€™t change the terminator seed business model

A new White House memo says that furloughed federal workers aren't entitled to back pay.

This is clearly against the law, which guarantees furloughed federal employees back pay for the duration of a government shutdown.

Lurie warns Sunset: Upzone, or S.F. could see โ€˜towers everywhereโ€™ In doubleheader, Sen. Scott Wiener, architect of the state building mandates that require San Francisco to rezone, draws ire at Westside forum

If SF doesn't upzone, the state could take over and "there could be towers everywhere," Mayor Lurie told the crowd at a Sunset town hall.

State Sen. Wiener also spoke, defending the state laws that are requiring San Francisco to rezone.

It's been two weeks since Adelita Grijalva was elected and Mike Johnson has still refused to seat her, unlike in past cases where he swore in new members within 24 hours.

There cannot be one set of rules for Rs and another for Ds.

Also, release the damn Epstein files already.

So uhhhhh such that they have a โ€œlegalโ€ argument is it that theyโ€™re intercepting tariff revenue before it hits Treasury somehow so this doesnโ€™t count as violating the appropriations clause, or is it just purely โ€œfuck the constitutionโ€?

There are very few crops in which farmers have any power at all to control prices

If there were only a couple big firms growing potatoes and they could conspire to drive up prices, that would be bad

But we arenโ€™t seeing that.

The growers themselves have basically no power to set potato prices

07.10.2025 22:23 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

In a highly competitive market like soybeans there is no market power

Sellers donโ€™t control prices

They canโ€™t reduce output to boost prices

They canโ€™t sell a fancy brand name to try to squeeze out profits

They just take whatever price is offered
