In my family Maushi, Mama, Kaka, and Atya refer to parents' cousins, not just siblings. Words for siblings are also used for cousins. I think this is quite common around the world in many languages. A lot of languages don't have terms for "second cousin" or "once removed."

In my family (South Asian heritage) we consider cousins of our parents aunt and uncle. I call my mom’s cousins Maushi (mother’s sister) and Mama (mother’s brother). My siblings and cousins call me Akka which means eldest sister. I am not even sure if we have a word for cousin distinct from sibling.

I just brought my cat Clara home from the hospital after I-131 treatment for her thyroid. She is most likely 100% cured now and soon she'll be out of isolation and back to cuddles and playing with her sister!

Living near a convenient bus route and subway stop has made getting around after my concussion feasible and affordable. I could take public transit to most of my physical therapy and medical appointments without losing too many work hours. Looks like those days are over.
