The decision of UK Labour's governing body to exclude transgender women from its women's conference next year goes against principles of human dignity and fundamental rights. Our thoughts are with transgender members of the party.
We oppose this move and will reach out to LGBT+ Labour to advocate for a return to a place where transgender women play active and full roles within women's sections of the party.

Also the most amazing thing happened, Rainbow Rose, the LGBT Labour of Europe has roundly condemned UK Labour’s transphobic action, this is significant in contrast with LGBT Labour’s craven silence.

1/ You wouldn’t know it from the coverage, but two recent employment tribunal rulings have vindicated those of us who have said from the start that the Supreme Court judgment did not require the automatic exclusion of trans people from single-sex toilets and changing rooms. 🧵

None of us who watched as the BBC tried to explain away as normal Boris Johnson's attempted Parliamentary coup in 2019 will be remotely surprised at its unprincipled attacks on a minoritised group and any Judge who has the temerity to find it has rights under the Equality Act.

Unbelievable that the far right are organising a carol concert to protest immigration. Jesus’ family were working class migrants travelling to Bethlehem and put in substandard accommodation. We need to rewrite some of those carols for them I suspect.

The hunger strikers are in mortal danger. But the conditions they’re being kept in are already critical. How the government and its prisons ignore strikers' basic rights and demands.

Eight people are on hunger strike, several apparently at imminent risk of dying, because our law punishes more harshly those opposing genocide than those supporting it. (And under a so-called Labour Government.)

I'm deeply concerned about the wellbeing of prisoners who were involved in Palestine Action protests, and are currently on hunger strike.

Some have not eaten for six weeks. A number have been hospitalised. They are all being held on remand - without trial or conviction.

It’s especially awkward because for decades the business of the Sensible Moderates - the leftmost politics acceptable, which now has to be ruthlessly enforced upon the public - has been relentlessly pandering like fuck to the likes of Farage and his fans, and giving them as much as can be conceded.

This is quite openly fascistic from the Labour Permanent Under Secretary for Migration and Citizenship.

There can't be any doubt about it.

Crick (Michael, who wrote a biography on Nigel Farage) believes that there is a clear line to be drawn between Farage the sixth-former and Farage the politician. "So much of his character is the same as you can see at Dulwich," he says. "The boy who's desperate for attention, who loves debating, who loves division. The English nationalism, the interest - almost obsession - with immigration, the admiration for Enoch Powell, the free-market Thatcherism; all of that began at Dulwich."
Much of the public has already made up its mind on Farage. In as much as this story cuts through to the wider elector-ate, some will think it deeply unfair to judge Farage on his adolescence; while others will see it as fair game and reflective of the man he later became.
But there will be many who are still undecided on Farage and, for this last camp, his belligerent response to the allegations will be a test.
He has the polling support. He has the Tory defections. He has the money now too. But does he have the ability to woo and keep voters who once found him unsavoury?
Farage is unlikely to change tack now.
"He's got to be true to him-self," says the senior Reform source. "There is precious little point in apologising to people like Ed Davey."

The exact people now saying "Nigel Farage was young and foolish at school" (to excuse his racism, bullying and harassment of fellow pupils at Dulwich College) are the same people who said "Shamima Begum was old enough to know what she was doing".

I spoke in Parliament today to challenge the misinformation from those claiming this tribunal as a 'win' for the anti-trans agenda.

In fact it found Ms Peggie harassed a colleague for being trans, and it dismissed almost all her claims.

It also found that trans segregation is not supported in law.

The WI and Girlguiding have been pressured to exclude trans women – yet the law is clear as mud | Jess O’Thomson Since the supreme court decision, organisations have faced lobbying and legal threats. But trans people are protected by discrimination law too, says Jess O’Thomson of the Good Law Project

Me, in The Guardian today:

"This is a moment that requires bravery in standing up for what is right. Organisations that value trans people should know not just that the law is on their side – but so, also, are many people who will step up to defend them if they have the courage to take a stand."

631. The third aspect was her evidence given when recalled in relation to a message she had passed on to her group of friends which related to floods in Pakistan in the most highly offensive terms. She initially described the messages as “dark humour”. Her evidence later was that the message had been sent to provoke a reaction, in broad summary. We did not consider that latter evidence to be credible given the content of the message sent and her initial evidence about it. In our view it was an untruthful attempt to downplay what she had done, which she recognised as having included very offensive material. We consider that it was clear beyond serious argument that the author or authors of the original message considered the remarks humorous, and that the claimant had also considered them humorous which was why she had passed them on. That was supported in our view by her reference to dark humour

Oooft. Sandie Peggie shared highly offensive messages and was then "untruthful" in giving evidence to the Tribunal.

This is the 'hero' Gender Critical campaigners have chosen.
