It wasn’t long ago that media used to say lesbians in bathrooms or changing rooms sexualised “innocent” straight women and made them uncomfortable. Such fears were weaponised politically to vilify lesbian women as sexual predators. Now we see the same comments recycled about trans women. It’s gross.

People used to argue with TERFs by trying to point out that what they were demanding would require a totally unprecedented level of militarized gender policing, and now that's the consensus position of British society.

The employee asked the girl and her mother if they needed help shopping. That’s it. That’s all. The misinformation, the insinuations (because the facts are inconveniently benign) are EXACTLY what was done to lesbians in the 80s. This is the product of hate and fear, not reality.

🎉 40,000 women have signed - and we’re not stopping here.

We’re united in rejecting discrimination against the trans and non-binary community. We refuse to let our voices be used to divide. This is our moment — and we’re heading for 50,000...and beyond! 🚀💥

Looking for LGBTQ Socs in unis to invite me.

One Woman, Two Protests, Zero Postcodes in Common: Tommy Robinson associate claims to be ‘concerned local resident’ Yesterday, former academic turned Reform UK cheerleader, Matt Goodwin tweeted a clip from the recent anti-migrant protest at the Barbican in London.  “Why are you...

“This is my local community. I’m worried about my children.”

That’s what a woman told GB News at the anti-migrant protest at the Barbican in London.

Problem is, she said the same thing at a protest in Epping days earlier. 🤦 ❌

This is a surprisingly strident editorial (for a UK paper) eviscerating the appointment of Dr Stephenson as the new EHRC Chair.

Though things will obviously get worse before they get better, one can glimpse hope that this is *so* egregious, there's no option but for it to fail.

As for what the public currently thinks: It’s no surprise the “social fabric” is in the state it’s in, given what this new YouGov polling shows about public attitudes and awareness of immigration. Almost half of Brits (47 percent) believe immigration to the U.K. is primarily illegal rather than legal, when the reality is that irregular or illegal migration accounted for just 4 percent of overall immigration in the year to March. Forty-five percent support ending all immigration and forcing recent migrants to leave.

Then again: The scale might be overestimated — but the reality remains that Brits (and now even some officials at the OBR, of all places) think legal and illegal migration is too high. And no politician is going to be bold enough to tell voters they’re wrong in “small boats week.”

Large parts of our media and politicians bear responsibility for the misconceptions voters have about migration. Via Politico

the home office are not fit for purpose. I will say this every day if I have to. A completely dysfunctional government department that has contributed to the fracturing of our social fabric. And it has zero morals.

World Athletics’ mandatory genetic test for women athletes is misguided. I should know – I discovered the relevant gene in 1990 World Athletics says its genetic test for women ensures ‘the integrity of women’s sport’ – but science does not support this overly simplistic idea.

World Athletics says that "The SRY gene is a reliable proxy for determining biological sex." The guy who literally discovered the gene and has spent the last 35 years researching it says they're wrong. theconversation.com/world-athlet...

Catastrophic subtitling on the 1941 movie "Love on the Dole".

(It should read "She's a strange lass, is our Sal"...)

Former Tory MP Adam Holloway has defected to Reform. As someone who 'mistakenly' overclaimed £1,000 on expenses, defended an MP who sexually assaulted a 15 year old and tried to influence a judge over another MP charged with sexual assault, he should fit in perfectly.

If the BBC was doing its job, it would note in its coverage of Reform that 92% of the party's donations come from the fossil fuel industry.

What Labour are doing to trans people is so brazenly unjust. They don't care about the science, the recommendations of experts, the legality, the morality... not even the political cost. It's just full steam ahead with eliminating trans people from public life regardless of the cost or consequences

If they can remove trans people's existing rights, like they're trying to do, then they can remove anyone's rights. Even yours.

Don't think that can happen? Yeah. We didn't think so either just a few years ago.
