Literally the dumbest timeline.

Just read that my local Frisch’s here in NKY is closing. I’ll admit I haven’t been there in a while, I feel like it fell off but still kinda sad. Yet another business private equity drove into the ground.

As a Bengal fan, with the way our year has gone, if you told me a punt was blocked (yay!) and the other team recovered (oh no!) and went on to score the winning touchdown (FFS!) I would just assume it happened to us. What a bizarre play. Trust me I feel your pain and Micah Parson’s too.

My grandfather was drafted into the US Army on 11/17/1941. He was in Camp Wheeler GA completing basic training when word spread that the Japanese had bombed Pearl Harbor. The next 3 years would send this son of German immigrants to New Zealand, Fiji, Guadalcanal, New Georgia and Bougainville.

I’ve made the tough decision to take atleast a week maybe 2 off running. My mileage goals for 2024 will take a back seat to my goals for 2025. Sigh.

It’s not just Florida and California. Property and casualty insurance across the country is going to be a major drag on family finances as we see higher and higher catastrophic claims for property and higher vehicle insurance due to repair and replacement costs.

Hate to say it but good. This is not a playoff team and it starts with our defense. Now they can quit pretending and start facing the work that needs to be done to relevant in 2025.

Agree. Our personnel is not good enough. These are Lou’s guys. Tobin’s not going anywhere but if your guys can’t execute your scheme and cannot or will not be physical that’s on coaching. Time to set a standard and that starts by sending a message this isn’t acceptable.

We’ve had a bye week to self scout and repair and we don’t look willing to hit or cover. Like Lou, time to move on.

I’d like to see @jaymorrison.bsky.social do a Stat of the Jay ranking the teams that had a great offense and a terrible defense. Surely this is historic.

So many things in this world we cannot control. It’s pretty gloomy out there in the real world but it is Christmas up in here. And that makes me happy.

Not sure how small market teams like my @officialreds.bsky.social can keep up when the same big media market teams compete against each other for top talent. We need an NFL style salary cap and revenue sharing.

Not if you are paying Burrow and Chase. The Bengals have to win in the middle of the draft. I hope a big look in the mirror is happening this week. We cannot continue to waste what we have in Burrow.

The 2024 Bengals just are not good enough on defense across the board. The 2023 post mortem diagnosis of poor communication was faulty. As a result the whole defensive approach for 2024 was wrong. And the current defensive staff seems unable to fix it.

We have a lot of positional needs. Wherever we wind up picking we have to be able to develop. We clung to those mid round picks so tightly during trade deadline, but they only have value if you convert those picks into productive players. Not sure we have the staff to do that.

Pretty amazing day of football here. Steelers/Ravens, Chiefs/Bill and then yet another Must Win Armband game for Cincinnati against the Chargers. Anyone else remember that wild card playoff game at Paul Brown???

After severely over proofing the last go around, nice to have some redemption. No pro grade, but good enough for me!

My wife is out of town this weekend. I can go absolutely wild. Which for me means I’m going to destroy my kitchen making bread.
