Graphic showing what your mobility choice costs all of society
If walking costs you $1, we all pay $0.01. If biking costs you $1, we all pay $0.08. If bussing costs you $1, we all pay $1.50. If driving costs you $1, we all pay $9.20. Via @thediscourse study.
This isnβt just about choice. Itβs about who pays for your choice.

HOT RESEARCH NEWS!
Motonormativity ("car brain") is a bias that stops people making rational judgements about driving en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motonor...
Our new study shows where this bias comes from AND how it makes people think they're odd for supporting changes to the transport system π§΅

- toilet was alright, felt very similar to the Oscarβs but were clean - but it is the first day
- did see a couple of people trying to flip the seats which was funny
- overall Iβm glad that they are finally being used for passenger services

- shouldβve come out way sooner but theyβre here now

Mariyung/D-set first thoughts
- very nice, feels like a modern train
- smooth ride, barely any noise and donβt feel many bumps (caveat I only went from central - Epping so could be bumpier)
- all the little things are good - tray tables are nice and strong, little hooks for bags
- bike storage π

Street full of parked cars in Bordeaux France, Google photo from 2008.
Same location in Bordeaux photo taken by me in 2023.
Before & After: I donβt think people realize the extent to which parked cars degrade public space.
