Seeing this reminds me of a question I had the other day at stupid o'clock in the morning and couldn't answer in a few minutes: in English law, are there any offences for which the Crown can be held criminally liable?

note that all of these are subject to state regulations, some states have rate capping so increases to property rates beyond some figure require approval from a state entity
in unrelated news many councils are not far off insolvency

commercial waste fees, planning/development assessment.
water + waste are the big ones as far as user fees

rates (property tax based on either unimproved or improved property value), water/sewerage charges (sometimes charged by local councils, sometimes by larger entities that are joint ventures or state government), fees for random stuff like dog registration, rental/hire fees for council property

I am a 34 year old 5th generation piako local who works for Australian cyber Intelligence. I am a former special forces war veteran and military intelligence operative with a background that includes farming and underground mining.
I offer my community strategic thinking tested and trialled in high stress situations. The way I see it, if I can survive a gun fight in a dark forest at night with no night vision against multiple enemy who have night vision then surely I have the ability to wage a war against rates. I am good with numbers and hacking codes but I am no pencil pusher, I am a stubborn voice of reason and a person who will stay awake until 3am thinking of every way to achieve the outcome when someone has told me I cannot do something. A wolf will always remove its obstacle before it grabs the sheep. I will also be running for hauraki mayor with intention to expand the strength and capabilities.
An early contender for candidate profile of the election, I think. Matamata-Piako District Council.

We believe e-bikes should be allowed on public transport, if:
There is space on public transport.
They are not e-motorcycles.
βEβ Safety is enhanced through improved import regulations and compliance efforts.
Helping customers to use public transport remains the focus of staff.
E-mobility is recognised as a part of the public transport system, particularly in growth areas.
Government β including data and monitoring β should be transparent to help taxpayers better understand the issue.
There is a proactive rather than reactive approach to addressing this issue.
ππ΄π²We don't think a blanket ban of e-bikes and e-scooters from trains is the best way forward. A more nuanced approach is needed, addressing safety but not losing the obvious advantages for first mile/last mile connectivity.

Seems mostly reasonable changes to the oversight system, although there's also a non-oversight amendment to expand immunities for computer offences outside Australia to cover certain ADF and Defence Department functions, apparently a Richardson Review recommendation...
