An opal.. "opal," it's probably plastic, earring held between my fingers. The opal has a metal loop around it like a planetary ring, and from a tiny chain dangles a tiny star. It is all very small.

New earring day! This one was a nuisance to get in, being internally threaded on the opal part, so I'm going to wear it a good long while.

In a shocking turn of events, she could barely stand and we made the decision to send her back to the hospital.
