I'm reading through what I wrote for the first chapter of this new story, and I didn't realise how intense it was. Near death experience for two of my characters right off the bat? Why not?

So, since I started working on three different books and split my week up to dedicate 2 days to each book, I have written more in a week than I have the last few months.

Just spent the day carting cats and a dog to go get their injections, getting guilt-tripped by the cats for putting them in carriers, and now I finally get the chance to write.

Whenever I wonder if my fantasy creatures are too unrealistic, I remember that on this very planet in reality there is an animal that eats algae, steals that algae's chloroplasts, and uses those chloroplasts to create food from sunlight when there isn't as much algae to eat.

I love the idea of an old school typewriter, but the sound of an old school typewriter... too much noise for my brain.

My toxic trait is having a document for each book where I dump everything I randomly discover while writing without any plan which I call (book name) planning.

So I decided I will try the healthy thing and space out writing each of the three books. So, Monday and Tuesday will be the new book, Wednesday and Thursday will be Maz's book, Friday and Saturday will be Tyrenae's book, and on Sundays I will lie in bed staring at the ceiling in existential dread.

Treating myself to some ramen today like I didn't just decide to write three books at the same time when I said I would focus on one at the beginning of the year...

Well, damn. This is what happens when the plot bunnies win. This is in no way my fault. It's not because I have no self-control with creative pursuits. It's defitely NOT that.

I suddenly have the urge to write a medium-stakes fantasy with a sorcery guild that does odd jobs and discovers dark secrets on a more personally deadly scale like I don't already have more ideas than lifespan.

Sometimes I wish I knew where this story was going so I could know how we get to the next big scene that keeps playing on repeat in my head, but, no, I ask Tyrenae where we go next and they just respond with, "I don't know. I just got here."

I can hear the vibration of someone's sub woofer like halfway down the street and it's driving me up the wall.

Constantly stuck between wanting to write Maz's story and needing to write Tyrenae's story.

The fact that my book doesn't flow fully formed from my imagination onto the page is so rude. What do you mean I have to figure out words to describe the images playing in my head?

Today is one of those days where I wish I could just be a cat in a cat person's house for the next 24 hours so I can just lounge around and do nothing but be cute as heck.

Gotta love it when going into town ends up triggering your fight or flight response.

I'd rather be in bed, snuggling with my cats, but instead I have to get up and go to town and be responsible.

I forgot how stressful it is to apply for work, but I spent a good few hours on this so I deserve to take a break. Going to watch anime and get some writing done later.

I finally have my certificate which means I can now start applying for work!

The urge to get another kitten like I don't already have nine cats is ever present.

Okay, so I changed which exercises to do to allow that muscle to rest, had a tiny, little breakdown as a treat because I had to change my plans, and have done said exercises, now I'm allowed to eat something and get on with my day.

I need to exercise today because routine makes the brain happy, but I should take it easy because I pushed myself too hard and strained a muscle so now I'm just existing and getting nothing done.

I think that lack of control is another reason I never considered having a TV/film adaptation. Besides animation like what Vox Machina has would suit my stories better than live action. Although, I agree, imagining is always fun, our imaginations are why we write in the first place anyway.

I'm the same. I just want my book to be a book that someone can hold in their hands and flip through the pages and find escape. Also have these authors forgotten how TV and movies like to butcher the source material? I don't want to deal with that while fighting to make sure it's perfect.

I took the weekend off from life to deal with my mental health, and while it's still not the best, I have more motivation to exist right now. So, my plan for today is work out, chores, then take the rest of the day on and hopefully write sometime.
