Trump Walked in on Teen Pageant Contestants Changing Former Miss Teen USA contestants say Trump walked in where contestants as young as 15 were dressing

Are you telling me *this* man might have been involved in his best friend's sex ring of teenage girls? Does that sound like him?

Folds: If weโ€™ve been told our whole lives that we canโ€™t spend money on the arts because theyโ€™re not importantโ€”then why was taking over the Kennedy Center and the arts the first thing they did?

It is extremely important. Itโ€™s the bedrock of self-expression.

Sometimes calls for prayer are sincere and sometimes they are an argument: a claim that this is Godโ€™s fault and our choices and policies have nothing to do with it.

The death toll in Central Texas climbed to at least 70 as of midday Sunday, as rescuers searched for people swept away by devastating floods and forecasters warned that downpours would continue in already hard-hit areas. Follow live updates. www.nytimes.com/live/2025/07...

In a country characterized by the rule of law, some regulation of immigration is a legitimate function of government. In a lawless, expressly bigoted, and expressly corrupt regime, it is not. Download IceBlock and defy this administration.

You think that vast armed force is going to be used just for immigration?

I doubt it. Watch for ICE duties to expand duties and for ICE to follow the pattern of militarization of police. Also watch it used as secret police against anything anti-ICE.

Just heard Bill Kristol, former chief of staff for Dan Quayle, say he thinks ICE should be defunded and that the entire DHS should probably be disbanded, which puts him to the left of maybe the majority of elected Democrats. Truly wild times weโ€™re living in.

I work as an elder and hospice caregiver, which I am oddly passionate about. I can love on them shamelessly and no one complains about my codependence. It's a win-win situation.

Many of my caregiving colleagues complain about the repetitive questions and, sometimes reactions, of the elderly, especially when those patients happen to read the newspaper, especially with the current downward spiral of our country โ€” as if these people haven't lived through enough horror...

I love my dementia peeps, but sometimes wonder if there's a Guinness Book World Record for how many times an hour a dementia patient can repeat the same question โ€” it's got to be in the hundreds. At least with small children, they ask different questions. Dementia patients will get stuck on one short question and ask it until you can interrupt their train(carousel) of thought and successfully redirect their attention. That carousel is pretty manic sometimes.

A couple days ago, I picked up my mail from the post office and drove over to the nursing home to take (let's call her "Miss Daisy") Miss Daisy out for a drive. Before we took off on our road trip, to the end of The Road and back, in our landlocked little town (Juneau, Alaska), I set my copy of The Onion down in front of her.

Over our two-hour excursion, tiny Miss Daisy read that front page at least a dozen times and each time she would snicker, giggle, and guffaw, then put it down on the dash board and, a minute later, discover it anew. I think it was the best afternoon of my life. We don't often hear them laugh and when they do, it's the sweetest thing you've ever heard.

...

Thank you, thank you, thank you, for the really important work all of you do. You make the world a better place.

I got permission to share this, and I'm extremely grateful for that.

The Onion got this letter from one of our subscribers in Alaska. She works with dementia patients and decided to leave a copy in the car for each one.

This email made my year. Read it and you'll see what I mean. People are good.

Someday hopefully people will understand that effective altruism was a stepping stone towards allowing the wealth class to jettison their shred humanity and embrace a supremacist worldview where they are literally superman meant to rebuild humanity from the ashes in their image.

Is there a process for rescinding tax policy? Carney and Trump agreed on a new trade agreement by July 21st. If we donโ€™t get a trade agreement by that date, will the DST go forward?

G.O.P. Bill Adds Surprise Tax That Could Cripple Wind and Solar Power Wind and solar companies were already bracing for Congress to end federal subsidies. But the Senate bill goes even further and penalizes those industries.

Senate Republicans have quietly inserted provisions in President Trumpโ€™s domestic policy bill that would not only end federal support for wind and solar energy but would impose an entirely new tax on future projects, a move that industry groups say could devastate the renewable power industry.
