In amongst the noise & media whatabouttary, something significant happened this week.

The Mayor of London committed to fully implementing HEPA filtration in 200 London schools.

Proper filters, not desk items.

That it has taken so long to do so is a disgrace, but not on Sadiq Khan.

We flounced out of the EU on the say-so of politicians who lied to us. And what a total shitshow that’s turned out to be. The polar opposite of what they promised. Now the call to flounce out of the ECHR. By the same people. Telling the same lies. Has the country been kicked in the head by a horse?

Its astonishing to think the economy would be 4% larger, if Brexit had not happened. It doesn't sound like a lot, but that would equate to over £140 billion. You could reverse the 2010s austerity in local government completely, and massively increase spending elsewhere.
And some people trust Farage.

If you find yourself on the same side as Donald Trump on literally any topic, you are pitching for the bad guys. It's a pretty easy litmus test.

UK recognises Palestine as an independent state Keir Starmer’s announcement comes seven decades after end of British mandate in Palestine and creation of state of Israel

Good.

Now stop arms sales to Israel, implement hefty sanctions on the Netanyahu regime and its members, and use your place on the UN Security Council to back up Resolution 242 with action. It's fucking genocide.

Living a moral life in an age of bullies requires collective action; it cannot be done alone. Each of us must organize and participate in a vast network of moral resistance. From this solidarity we will grow stronger. This is what our current moment requires.

wrote about this last year and sure I wasn't in any way the only one but imo people voting for populist politics in the 21st century *is* a sign that they do just have too much faith in institutions, as opposed to not enough - they want to have their little tantrum but assume things will just hold

The Labour political strategists of the last few years all feel like political plants working for the opposition! Where do they find these people?!

Next time someone on the right claims all the political violence in this country is coming from the left, not the right, do please show them this.

You're welcome

What you must remember about Reform is that they are multi-millionaire tax dodgers, owned by multi-billionaire US Fascists.

There ain't no Making Britain Great Again in there.

Danny Kruger joining Reform isn’t news. That’s his natural home. A party led by rich racist grifters and liars cynically exploiting ignorance.
They claim to be a breath of fresh air. But they stink of personal inadequacy and public failure. We should all be very bored of their stale guff by now.

Tesla boss Elon Musk wants to overthrow UK govt.

Big pharma wants the NHS to pay higher drugs prices or else.

Banks warn govt not to levy higher taxes on them, cut worker wages they say.

People bear cost of corporate pollution, abuses.

Choice - Curb corporate power and slavery or democracy.

Want to be clear that the predictable violence against the police wasn't the only problem with yesterday's march

It's that 100,000 angry racists gathered in London for the biggest racist march in 50 years, and anyone not white had to steer clear

The govt can't see that because they are inadequate.

We are witnessing a “marketing push” from the far right. Someone is coordinating this & someone is funding it. (Bannon & co do have form!). The silent majority story is utter BS & the actual silent majority need to start piping up! The UK is not a nation of far right, 1/2 witted thugs!

“I hope politicians from all parties come together to condemn his deeply dangerous and irresponsible rhetoric.

“Britain must stand united against this clear attempt to undermine our democracy.”

I’m not surprised at the large turn out yesterday. Our media ecosystem - as @carolecadwalla.bsky.social has often pointed — has completely collapsed, and people are motivated by outright inflammatory lies on social media. It’s a crisis of information and the dark side of the digital revolution

One of the great challenges of our day is to combat the hatred, fear, and lies that generate profits for those seeking to divide us and keep us from uniting around a common good.

Trump's approval ratings are tanking. He's blowing up the economy. He hasn't done squat to help the working class. The Epstein scandal haunts him.

He is a weak and failing president with his back against the wall.

Keep up the pressure.
