I used to use a "red feed blue feed" site in my middle school social studies classes that would compare what the algorithms would show side-by-side for whatever topic you chose. It was a great tool, very eye-opening for the kids. So scary that so many don't know this is their "news".

This is correct, imagine my dismay upon moving west and then my delight upon discovering that gas station on the edge of town which specialized in wacky beverages and then dismay once more when they closed.

Shocked by Epstein’s birthday book? That culture was everywhere before feminism | Rebecca Solnit Feminism exposed the ubiquity of child abuse, rape, sexual harassment and domestic violence – and helped fight that culture

The Em Dash Responds to the AI Allegations β€œIn recent months, a curious fixation has emerged in corners of academia: the em dash. More specifically, the apparent moral panic around how it is...

"I am not some sleek, futuristic glyph. I am the battered, coffee-stained backbone of writerly panicβ€”the gasping pause where a thought should have ended but simply could not."

I wish this were true, I agree with the sentiment. But *Charlie Kirk* was inexcusable, and absolutely does not deserve to be honored by lowering the flag. Dying doesn't erase the awful things he promoted (including the idea that a few deaths were worth it to keep all the guns, ffs.).

β€œThat Was the E-Mail Exchange That Was”: Tom Lehrer Weighs In on the Greatest American Musicals - Library of America American humor lost one of its great voices this summer with the death of genius singer-satirist Tom Lehrer at the age of ninety-seven. The mind behind such madcap classics as β€œWe Will All Go Together...

In memory of genius satiric songwriter (and mathematics professor) Tom Lehrer, American Musicals editor Laurence Maslon recalls his memorable e-mail exchanges with livinglegend@ucsc.edu about which stage musicals were CLASSICS, GROUNDBREAKERS, HISTORIC, LANDMARK, or simply GREAT.
