Please stop saying things like "We had to vote for Carney, it was the only alternative to PP".

It's just not true. In fact, that kind of thinking made and continues to make things worse.

We have taken products off the market for being far less dangerous. We also have a clear signal that all the money we’re dumping into AI could be better spent addressing a serious mental health crisis.

Anyone who has struggled to get treatment understands how transformative it is to finally be heard. Having symptoms written off is incredibly demoralizing

What we lose when we surrender care to algorithms | Eric Reinhart A dangerous faith in AI is sweeping American healthcare – with consequences for the basis of society itself

β€œThe problem is that when it is installed in a health sector that prizes efficiency, surveillance and profit extraction, AI becomes not a tool for care and community but simply another instrument for commodifying human life.”

I think i also underestimated that you need to plant more tomatoes than you think you'll need to get enough. I found putting up a net around the planter really helped with pests too. Here's to us getting more going forward!

Did squirrels get your tomatoes? They ate all mine last year and have become my nemeses.

I have no idea what I'm doing in the garden and have no intention of researching but I love planting stuff and watching my garden come to life. It's been so great for my mental health.

You’ve met men like this. You know men like this. Less famous, perhaps, but the same tedious pattern.

What a fantastic piece of writing. I hope that somehow, in the afterlife, Sharon Begley hears the satisfying *thunk* of her arrow, loosed before her death, now hitting its mark.

If you gave me a billion dollars, I would become the most popular person for quite a long time, because every struggling mom I know would get a bunch of money. I would pay for people's fun and for their worries to go away. I'd help people. He has an empire, but it's eternally empty. No love or hope.

40 years ago we’d have congressional hearings falsely accusing metal bands of putting backwards messages in their songs that told kids to kill themselves & now we have a planet-killing chatbot that’s all like β€œbet you won’t commit suicide chickenshit bitch” & the government is like here’s $5 billion

Whenever language around what people deserve and what they don't deserve in the US comes around I am reminded at how much this is a game to people, how they can't fathom real lives

Not just politicians, but literally our neighbors. The cruelty people will put onto others without a second thought

At least one study has shown that having to smile and perform happiness for patrons and customers shreds your mental health and leads to higher rates of drinking and substance abuse. What does it say about the fragility of Americans that everyone must smile at them constantly?

Part of the reason I think there isn’t as much pressure around stopping ChatGPT re: suicide/psychosis as compared to stuff like Panera Lemonade is because people are inclined to blame it on mental illness versus the tech, a kind of victim-blaming mentality that fits neatly into just world fallacy

To local grocery stores and restaurants, don’t throw out your overstock!

The state of CT passed protections to protect you from any liability on donations.

We can have volunteers pick up overstock & donate them to families in need. Write it off both as a loss & donation!

Please reach out or email
