I get positively ignored in the gym, and I'm someone who definitely needs some guidance on form when I attempt free weights.
What's their mindset I wonder, is it "women clearly have no idea so I will tell them", or is it, "I'm a man, I'm superior, so will help" or both. Is it getting worse, too?

Boston (UK) marathon, it was flat. Flatter than the flattest pancake, it made the rest of the Fens look like the Alps. The aim was to just get around injury free, after hamstring strain 6 weeks ago. Fully achieved. I ran 32k, jeffed 5k & pushed for the last 5k. Really surprised to get under 4 hours

If they can sneak one of these 2 out quickly, then they should be able to finish them in the time left 🤞

Definitely flat and there was a moderate wind. I strained my hamstring about 7 weeks ago, so I had given up chasing for a time, I just hoped I would strain it again. All went well, got around in 3:55, and the legs were all OK. I'll hopefully get some speed and stamina back for Edinburgh in May.

A lovely parkrun at Boston parkrun with a great set of marshals, especially the ones encouraging everyone up the "hill", which is a small incline for anyone not native to the Fens 🤣 then exploring Boston, mainly the Stump ahead of the marathon tomorrow.

#parkrun volunteering with my favourite daughter, at #TyneGreen. She missed last week due to breaking her foot, but back on it!

That's completed her 5 hours volunteering she needed for her Uni sports science course. She's enjoyed it but I fear she may return to Saturday morning hibernation 🤣😥

Jock Semple eventually saw the error of his ways and reconciled with Katherine. They became good friends.

I remember a program on TV, looking at the sports drinks/water industry, maybe 10 or 15 years ago, where a university professor in sports nutrition said no one ever dies of dehydration running a marathon, but every year 3 or 4 die from over hydration during a marathon.

A bit of a different volunteering around the finish funnel compared to Tyne Green, a bit harder to do those checks to see if the timers are in sync with the finish tokens. All seemed to go smoothly.

A lovely clear morning though it was a bit chilly for barcode scanning and the Town Moor is very open with no shelter from the breeze. I just about had enough layers on to keep warm.

A bit of local #volunteer tourism at Town Moor #parkrun today. It was meant to be a double act with my favourite daughter, but she learnt earlier in the week, on a night out, that heels and alcohol can be a risky mix, resulting in a fractured foot/metatarsal. So I was solo for the morning.

Enjoy. Hopefully it goes ahead ok after the alterations.

Hopefully I didn't upset too many Scots with my attire at Tyne Green parkrun this week. Luckily I didn't try out my dubious attempt at a Scottish accent. I went with a Scottish theme as it was St Andrew's Day, at least there were other kilts on view, some the real thing
