Aer Lingus passengers travelling from the Republic of Ireland to the United Kingdom will have to carry a passport under tighter regulations being introduced this month. It means documents such driving licences or Garda age cards will no longer be accepted for boarding.

This should not be a police decision. Given evidenced secretive and unethical use of tech by PSNI already, this is amounts to an assault on ECHR rights, an undermining of civil rights in a ‘post-conflict’ region and an abandonment of any notion of ‘police reform’ post Good Friday Agreement.
