Rate of traffic fatalities are increasing across North America. The vast majority of this suffering can be avoided.

If we've decided as a society that the automobile will remain the dominant mode of transportation, then this is what's required.

Otherwise, fund public transit.

These were not common when your parents—or perhaps even you—learned to drive. Yet, our quickly evolving, car-dependent society has no regulations on furthered education for average people.

About 20% of Canadians are aged 65+. These folks haven't had their driving tested in nearly half a century.

Were they tested on sharing the road with micro-mobility? Navigating roundabouts? What about cell phones?

Paris to Replace Parking Spaces With Trees The city’s new climate plan promises to drop speed limits, repurpose traffic lanes, remove 60,000 parking spots and create urban “oases” to combat extreme heat.

This level of action is what is required to prevent the worst of climate change and to improve our cities. The sooner governments realize this, the better off we will be.

The space efficiency of public and active transit is unmatched. Anyone telling you otherwise is simply wrong.

I seem to recall spiking past it but are still averaging below (maybe around 1.3?)

Still, given the incoming President, it's tough to imagine we won't blow past 1.5.

This new report from Climate Action Tracker on warming projections pretty much convinces me we will exceed 1.5° of warming. What do you think?
