This is a Wild Thing reissue, six string electric guitar made by Danelectro in China in 2011 with a black, high-gloss finish and white Tolex binding. This guitar is 100% original and is basically new-old stock. This is a rare, limited edition guitar. It is a double cutaway, masonite top and bottom with a plywood frame. The original version of the Wild Thing was a one-off and never in production at Danelectro. The pickups and electronics are the classic Danelectro style with stacked tone and volume controls for each pickup with a three-way toggle switch to choose between neck, bridge or both pickups. In the middle position the pickups are louder and act like humbuckers. This model was a limited run and has unique pickups and tone. They’re strong and bright single coils with a chrome finish. And, these single-coils are considerably more clean sounding than most. The classic Danelectro-style bridge is adjustable for height and intonation. It comes with the original Danelectro gig bag, warranty card, hang tag, original brochure, and wrench to adjust the neck (the adjustment must be under the nut or in the neck-pocket since it’s not visible on the body.) This is a U2 reissue, six string electric guitar made by Danelectro in Korea circa 1998 in a purpleburst finish. It is a single cutaway, hardwood top and bottom with a plywood frame. This U2 reissue is very clean aside from one chip near the neck pocket on the body. The purpleburst is a rare color. It includes the original Danelectro gig bag which is very heavy duty and in good shape. This model was issued from 1998 to 2001. Description from VintageSilvertones.com

This is a Danelectro ’56 Single Cutaway Guitar/U2 reissue, six string electric guitar made by Danelectro in China in 2011. It’s just beautiful looking with a white finish along with all gold-plated hardware and original hard shell case (ohsc). The pickguard is clear plastic with a gold line and “D” and does have playing wear. It is a single cutaway, masonite top and bottom with a plywood frame. This Danelectro ’56/U2 reissue is very clean but does have nominal playing wear. The white finish is a nice looking and it does have white tolex binding. The one flaw is the red lining of the case has bled onto the back and portions of the tolex on the side. The pickups and electronics are clean sounding with stacked tone & volume controls for each pickup. There’s a three-way toggle switch to choose between neck, bridge or both pickups. This model was a very limited run and has unique pickups and tone. They’re very strong sounding single coils but in the middle position act like humbuckers with a more unique, clean tone. The neck position is clean and smooth sounding. And, the neck position is raw and raspy. All themetal parts on the guitar are gold colored/plated. Description from VintageSilvertones.com

The Dean Uli Jon Roth Sky 7 is a 7-string version of Uli's signature body style. Imagine starting with a Strat body, cutting an S-shaped curve out of it that totally removes the lower cutaway horn, then bolting a neck to it and extending the fretboard all the way to the bridge pickup (a humbucker, in this case). It's got 32 frets, but since the space between the frets is so small when you get up to the really high ones, the last 4 are whole steps instead of half steps like normal. There's a volume knob; one each for bass, middle, and treble; a master gain knob; a 5-way blade switch (even though there's only one pickup); and a coil tap switch. To top it off, the guitar has a Strat-style trem.

I used to buy the New European too, it’s good, but too pricey. I must look into getting a subscription cos I love the quality of the Bylines writing.

Photo of the book “The Daily Telegraph A to Z of (almost) Everything”, a compendium of general knowledge before the internet and AI 🤮 were as big as they now are. The book (a weighty tome, literally as thick as a house-brick) dates from 2003 - when the Telegraph, though parodied as the “Torygraph”, was nevertheless still a serious, authoritative newspaper. Unlike now, when it might as well be a cheapo populist rag like the Sun, the Daily Mail and the Daily Express. The book is genuinely useful for people who want to know things; the cover is a jade/eau-de-nil shade, and the book is photographed on a beechwood chair. An oak floor can be seen in the background, along with an attractive glass paperweight which doubles as a handy door-stop.

Spot-on, Paul! However, it used to be; Mrs bought me this book from the s/h bookstall at Tesco‘s as wry joke (we chaps like to be “well-informed”🤓). It‘s from 2003, when the Telegraph had gravitas - tbf, it was the “Torygraph” even then, but it wasn’t down there with Sun, Mail, Express as it is now🤮

The Telegraph calls itself a newspaper. It's wrong about that too.

Needless to say, the teacher was not banned *because* they told a Muslim child that Britain is a Christian country🙄
