Alberta's overhaul of the auto insurance system continues. Here's how much Albertans could be paid out and the latest updates Alberta has unveiled the latest updates to the new auto insurance model which will include various payments for those in accidents.

Why are Albertans paying the 2nd highest auto Insurance Rates in Canada?

Despite the UCP’s promise, their new auto insurance rules wont lower premiums.

Minister Neudorf can you explain to Albertans how this is "Affordability" solution?

People riding bikes in a protected bike lane in downtown Vancouver

It’s REALLY important that #Vancouver’s Downtown Business Association, who were originally against downtown bike-lanes, are now among their most vigourous supporters, because of the evidence that they are better for downtown business than any street parking they replaced.

Bike-lanes mean business.

Opinion: In Alberta schools, books aren’t the threat — censorship is The Alberta government should not be eroding the fundamental rights and freedoms of some of its most vulnerable community members.

“Alberta’s order is precisely about banning books, as its direct effect is to force school authorities across the province to remove from their libraries a host of books deemed inappropriate by the state. This approach is textbook censorship…”

Did you know the City has a department that supports block parties, local safety & community programs?

It’s called Neighbourhood Services!

As councillor, I’ll fight to make it stronger & more visible.

No one is stopping Sean Feucht from hosting his shows in Canada, despite his criminal record.

He has no Charter right to have his shows hosted at public facilities, which must be safe and discrimination free spaces that uphold community standards.

Don’t believe the martyrdom.

Alberta taxpayers hit with $143M bill in first of multiple coal policy settlements Alberta is paying out more than $140 million to end one of five lawsuits launched against it over its coal mining policies.

$143M is cost to taxpayers to settle one of five lawsuits caused by government's mismanagement of it's #coal policies. Questions remain but the public is asked to 'trust' their decisions. This $143M could have been spent on things Albertans continue to ask for: health care, education, affordability.

Germany gave people €1,200/month no strings attached.

They kept working, slept better, switched to better jobs, and even gave more to others.

Turns out, when people aren’t drowning, they swim further.

In Australia, when a tree is illegally cut down, the local government area or council will put up a giant billboard as an eyesore in its place that says “A tree has been vandalized”. That ensures that no one can benefit from removing a tree to improve their view! Sign stays until vegetation regrows.

In AIMCo's 2024 annual report, the word “climate” doesn’t appear once. That’s a red flag. Every major Canadian pension fund has recognized climate change as a financial risk—AIMCo now seems to be backing away from that basic fact. 🧵

Opinion: There’s no place for politicians in the medical exam rooms of the nation Alberta’s Bill 26 would compromise the patient-doctor relationship

When governments begin to legislate what care we can offer, which treatments we’re allowed to prescribe, or that we must ignore evidence they dislike, trust will inevitably erode. Patients may hesitate to be honest. They may withhold what matters most.
