The South Glos Birds 2025 year list realised 200 species and forms this week (full total 204) with the addition of Pectoral Sandpiper spotted on Pilning Wetlands, New Passage on the 27th.

Rounded off an excellent week with a Sabineβs gull from Severn Beach, pushed up the channel on squally weather. Also, 8+ Manx, comic and black tern, and spoonbill all on the river.

A super Buff-breasted Sandpiper at CVLake, Somerset today was a very welcome start to the autumn passage.
It was performing nicely on and off on Nunnery Point despite the, sometimes, torrential rain.
