I was today years old when I learned that a travel guide was produced for the Game Boy in 1991 and that it has a cute little pixel animation to represent the character of each major city it covers.

Creative Counsel Law

@creativeatlaw

Sam Altman just confirmed what lawyers have been saying for over a year: There's no legal privilege when you use ChatGPT.

So if you're pasting in contracts, asking legal questions, or asking it for strategy, you're not getting legal advice. You're generating discoverable evidence.

No attorney-client privilege. No confidentiality.

No ethical duty. No one to protect you.

It might feel private, safe, and convenient. But lawyers are bound to protect you.

ChatGPT isn't-and can be used against you.

Another reason that using chat GPT is worse than simply not having a lawyer. If opposing counsel finds out you've been using chat gpt, they can request your logs and find out everything you've been saying. You get bad advice *and* you are creating discoverable evidence that can be used against you.

it’s fun that the “facts don’t care about your feelings” people make every single decision entirely based on how they feel

Being anti-porn and thinking it should be scrubbed from existence because a fraction of it is produced by exploiting women and kids shows such a fundamental misunderstanding of this stuff that I can't even begin to take an opinion like that seriously.

Sam Altman: I see humans achieving omnipotence using dark matter by… 2030 maybe? That’s if OpenAI is given a quadrillion dollars

Theo Von: Yeah

Altman: Or, we may become a race of slaves, genetically modified to be harvested by robot spiders. That’s if OpenAI doesn’t get the money

Von: Right

Selling Zohran | Defector On a cool Sunday in November, a few days after Donald Trump’s re-election, Zohran Mamdani stood on a street corner in Jamaica, Queens, holding up a hastily drawn cardboard sign that read “DID YOU VOTE...

"Listen, we're not on a studio set. We're not on the backlot at Sony. We're in New York City, and it's going to feel like it."

for @defector.com, i talked to the team behind @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social's campaign videos to learn their secrets (see: a lot of sincerity; and a dash of Tim & Eric)

I wonder if maybe CoD story-enjoyers just aren't very online in general? Maybe cuz it only takes a few hours to play a campaign? I'd be curious what kinda data the devs/suits have on the subject.

Maaike said that brain injuries don't give people hateful ideologies. You said "You can definitely change after fucking your brain up lol". That's a textbook "So you hate waffles"-ass reply.

You can say "I like pancakes" and somebody will say "So you hate waffles?"

AI Is a Mass-Delusion Event Three years in, one of AI’s enduring impacts is to make people feel like they’re losing it.

Hello. I wrote a nice long essay about AI and this very strange moment where we're constantly told we're living in the dawn of a strange new future but the only thing that's actually clear is that everyone feels pretty unmoored and uncertain. I hope you'll read it

It must be hard to be an artist working on Hades II, given how much time they'd spend with their eyes popping out and their tongues rolling out and hitting themselves in the head with a big cartoon hammer as they shouted awooga

The reason why it's important to eliminate candidates who destroyed encampments or said that parents have "legitimate reasons" to be concerned about trans kids is that they've ALREADY betrayed us. They already VOLUNTARILY stood with fascists. Why wait for them to do it again?

while smiling!

Gavin Newsom literally dressed up in his best Bad Boy™️ attire, invited the press, and smiled as he destroyed everything these constituents had in the world.

Gavin Newsom is not a bad candidate;

Gavin Newsom is truly, at his core, a bad and despicable human being.

"but crime is a real issue, people are worried about crime and you have to take that seriously"

No you don't! If people are getting more scared about crime while crime is happening less frequently, it's a made up issue and you should make a point of yelling that all the time

I often imagine telling the ghost of Upton Sinclair about how fascists are currently in the year 2024 putting kids to work in slaughterhouses and drinking raw milk and eating raw meats and not vaccinating their children and he is so upset he is crying and he is throwing up
