Exactly, and you can't really blame hiring managers for wanting to build the best teams that they can from the pool of candidates that are available.

You have a great point there, and that's especially true around 2022. I think the bias has always existed to some extent because it signals a certain level of ability in the candidate. Maybe companies are leaning into "safer" candidates today and so hiring managers are leaning into this bias more?
