Seen a spate of these stories lately. This one sounds like perfect ragebait but it's just so unrealistic, something an AI finds difficult to judge

Raheem Sterling has joined Feyenoord Rotterdam. He's already played for Liverpool, so he's now 2/3 of the way to completing the cities mentioned in the Beautiful South's "Rotterdam (Or Anywhere)"

Even if this did ever get the go-ahead successive governments would pare it back until it's just a guided bus on a brand new motorway between Liverpool and Manchester

Lord Peter Mandelson sought Epstein's opinion on the draft of his 2010 memoir about New Labour's rise to power and his relationships with former prime ministers
Tony Blair and Gordon Brown.
"I have finished my first read [...] The deals you want to be involved in require discretion, trust, handshakes, privacy. This book announces that you are willing to sell all of these for a farthing," Epstein wrote as part of an email exchange dated 16 May 2010.
"Your friend, and boss, tony [sic], is more often described as frail, flustered, tired, weak, and Gordon, flawed, demanding, pig-headed, irrationally determined."
The emails, released by the US Department of Justice, give an insight into how much Mandelson valued Epstein's advice and shows they remained close after the disgraced financier was convicted of child sex offences in 2008.
"It is not uplifting, it is gossipy and defensive," Epstein adds, saying he found the draft book
"troubling" and recommending that Mandelson look at his manuscript again.

"The deals you want to be involved in require discretion, trust, handshakes, privacy. This book announces that you are willing to sell all of these for a farthing" is such a perfect summary of Mandelson. The world's most notorious sex trafficker was a better judge of character than the current PM

I presume there was a meeting where they realise it's total shit but they have to plough on as it's too late to change course and they spent all the money already because surely no one signs off on it willingly?

Think part of it comes down to that Tumblr meme about the two meanings of "respect". MAGA interpreted respect for the dead as the with-reverence-and-fealty version not just with-politeness version and then tried to foist it on everyone

What's with the large negative space at the top third, forcing important information below the fold? And why do you have your logo at the bottom of the screen needlessly obscuring that same info? People rely on this app for their lives and livelihoods, design like this is actively harmful

Big fan of whichever sub-committee at the Met Office went "for the new app design, let's put our logo in three different places on the screen, so people know what app they're using. And let's put the bottom one floating over actually useful info, that makes perfect sense"

There was a similar case in the UK. I keep a scan of this newspaper article about it on my phone, to cheer me up with a quick laugh whenever I am down

Still wondering at which point in his life Scott Adams went completely off the deep end. Maybe it was when he started writing his non-comic books about religion and started fantasising (post-9/11) about holy wars & a clash of civilizations. Got too high on his own supply.
