As part of the #TeamCanada Trade Mission to Australia, Genome Canada is proud to announce a new collaboration with @ausgenomics.bsky.social to strengthen the impact of genomics technologies for both countries.

Garvan researchers will lead a project to map 2,000 cancer samples, aiming to understand why treatments vary across patients and cancer types. This initiative involves one of the largest collaborative cancer studies between Australia and Japan.

Bridging genomics’ greatest challenge: The diversity gap Corpas et al. present a detailed assessment of global diversity in genomic datasets, revealing underrepresentation of non-European ancestries in GWASs, pharmacogenomics, clinical trials, and direct-to-consumer genetic testing. They highlight ongoing challenges and the need to expand efforts to address persistent biases in genomic research.
