I agree. My dad has been angry with me for struggling basically. He has no concept of the fact that he set me up to fail. And thank god for all the grandparents who have stepped in to care for their grandchildren.

I had a very loving and healthy relationship with my grandparents. Unconditional love. It’s hard that they’ve passed though. I can’t even imagine how fucked up I would be if my parents raised me from birth. I’m so thankful for the childhood I had with my grandparents.

No he hates Trump. He’s a product of his environment. Louisiana conservatism. He never wanted m me as child. He failed me as a parent (I barely knew him until HS even though his parents were raising me). Now he doesn’t want anything to do with me because I don’t live the way he thinks I should.

As a millennial I feel like we really did get a raw deal. 911 was the year after I graduated HS, hurricane Katrina was four years later. Four years later was the housing crisis. Then Trump AND the pandemic. Feels like we never catch a break. Then Trump 2.0.
