The final four will consist of 3 2-loss squads and either ND or UGA with 1-loss. In a 4 team format, PSU, OSU, and Texas would not have been given the grace and they’d be left out. But by having 12 teams, the regular season becomes less important for the better teams with not as good seasons.

Good to see the Eagles targeting the middle of the field more. AJ and Devonta are just too good on the quick slant. Would love to see more to Goedert up the seam as well.

Even with Embiid and George back, McCain found a way to create his own shot. Alongside that, he also used their gravity to his advantage and made their job easier by hitting his open shots.

Next step is McCain remaining patient and loaded on nights where he may just be a catch and shoot guy. 🏀

Final clip- Suggs learned earlier that McCain is capable of beating him off the dribble. He decide to counter that with air tight defense but McCain hits the breaks and the fear of the McMiddy gets to the already scrambling Suggs. Another executed up-and-under from the rookie.

Probably my favorite play by McCain all night and what most of his scoring could look like on a healthy Sixers team. Relocates once on the PG drive, but he goes to Martin. 20 decides to relocate again in hopes of a top of the arc three, but once Martin is forced to turn his back to McCain, he uses-

Something McCain has always liked to do is a leaning fadeaway once he gets two feet in the paint. A shot so effective that even the formidable Jonathan Isaac reacts to McCain’s head fake. That slight hesitation is all he needed to get the up-and-under basket.

When Paul George is on the court, he’s going to get a fair share of eyes on him. With three Magic looking to PG and Franz Wagner respecting the cutting Martin, McCain is left wide open and all he has to do is what he does best. Expect plenty more of these looks, especially when Tyrese Maxey returns.

McCain’s shooting is being heavily respect by Suggs (as it should be). With Suggs preparing to go over the Embiid screen, McCain takes advantage of the step he now has away from the screen for a driving two.

Scoring 34 while leading an offense is what good players do. Scoring 29 while seemingly being the third option on paper is what great players do.

Easily his best game accessing the middle of the field. Another step for him is to make the defense respect his across the middle accuracy to reopen his deep sideline shots. #Eagles
