By sliding out a dedicated panel in the Editor, you can ask questions, generate code, or follow step-by-step guidance, all without switching to a browser. You save time and stay in flow. Instead of breaking concentration to search online, you can get instant help, examples, and troubleshooting tips right inside the editor.
naively checks ue 5.7 release notes to see if there is any reason to upgrade whatsoever. nope.
but there is a very good reason NOT to update
Very happy for my first ever Arabic Games Conference at @arabic.games and ofc it will be all in Arabic!

I think it's great to have nuanced, good faith disagreements, in an appropriate time and place!
but only if that's what's *actually* going on, rather than trying to pull everyone towards the center while saying "can't we all just get along guys? whys everyone so maaad cmon guuuys"
I don't like how the word "nuanced" became synonymous with "finding a middle ground" between "extremes"
it's possible to have a nuanced opinion, and yet also firmly stand within one of the extremes
Especially when it's something *every* artist struggles with, like drawing a head from below
17.11.2025 15:49 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I swear online art communities are the worst sometimes.
It's incredibly fucked up that a beginner could post art looking for help, and then spend the next week being relentlessly made fun of with endless mocking imitations of what they posted.
I wish the people who say that shit would learn that the not all things labeled "AI" are based in generative "AI" tech, especially not anything that came out over a decade ago.
Like, it's all based on machine learning, but it's not all based on LLMs trained on plagiarized works.
I cannot say that I'm TERRIBLY surprised that a survey comprised exclusively of only ~500 GDC attendees reveals that people who are still getting their companies to pay 1000+ dollars to attend after years of mass layoffs skews heavily towards very very senior AAA leadership & management tbh

14.11.2025 22:37 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0this is so cart-before-horse to me. i don't accept that people's attention spans are shorter in a way that has to matter. the problem is that we keep thinking that and "complying in advance" with the imagined boogieman of "people not paying attention nowadays". nothing done in that direction helps

ok so 1.) yes I fucking can, I'm already a curmudgeon about a bunch of other shit too, I'll just add this one to the pile, and 2.) this is such a grade school peer pressure ass excuse???
Leaving aside the fact that he's been a tremendous figure in the furry space for POC representation of which many of us (yes, this includes EAsian furries in NAMER) owe him our thanks, he's always been a kind and friendly presence the few times I've had the chance to chat with him. Help him out.

This really is all I say, either. Donโt try to replicate my journey, just put work out there for people to see when they go looking.
09.11.2025 20:14 โ ๐ 93 ๐ 11 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0the only advice I'll give to people about how to "make it" is that you need something to show people if the opportunity comes. it doesn't matter if no one on social media saw it; that's still your body of work and it's a way better portfolio than just saying "I want to someday"

Every time I play Mario Party I get the urge to make a game like it and my mind inevitably starts wandering into coming up with ways to implement the board game part.
09.11.2025 16:34 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0To be clear, this isnโt an attack on criticism which is deeply important and helps inform while giving perspective. What I take issue with is folls acting like theyโre coming from the mountain top with giant screeds they deem absolute. Crit is the start of a conversation. Not an end.
09.11.2025 03:10 โ ๐ 15 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0That lack of openness also causes so much stagnation in creative growth! Why hold yourself back from the opportunity to like something new? Or try to keep others from liking a thing youโre not into? Seems both silly and awful to me.
09.11.2025 02:48 โ ๐ 15 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Personal taste is important but an openness is necessary in a collaborative environment. Otherwise just make the thing on your own and donโt bring folks in.
09.11.2025 02:45 โ ๐ 13 ๐ 2 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0When it comes to art and storytelling, I think itโs important not to mistake personal preference for absolute law. Oftentimes, folks conflate the two and loudly say a thing must be A instead of B simply because they donโt like the latter. They frame it as if itโs nonnegotiable.
