As per usual, Cuomo won't take no for an answer. Every elected Dem in New York needs to come out ASAP to reject this. You rally around the primary winner. Full stop. End of story. If Dems can't agree on that, the Party is a sham. Why would any primary loser behave differently in the future?

What is he resisting, other than the will of a decisive majority of democratic primary voters?

I’m a normie NY Dem who never supported Sanders in a primary and I’m so infuriated by all this nonsense. Mamdani is our candidate ffs. He was overwhelmingly chosen by voters in a high-turnout primary!

My point here, as always, is to note (scream, at this point) that mindless doomerism is just lazy, sloppy thinking abt legit tricky issues.

It is its own form of copium, justifying doing nothing by wrapping itself in an unearned veneer of world-wearied cynicism.

Lots of people--LOTS OF PEOPLE--on the lefty side believe pushing lefty content is Not Their Job. That's Congress' job.

Instead they think THEIR job is whining that Congress is not doing that job--the job that, on the far right, is done by people like them.

It’s unclear what you want them to do. Unless you have any ideas, you might consider that all the complaining just makes it harder to turn out voters the next cycle, which is when we can actually get power.

He’s doing what he can. Unfortunately the voters chose to give Republicans the power to pass this bill.

It feels like some of them are wavering. Most notably, Gillibrand. And then there are some national Dems who are making poorly-informed statements to try to insulate themselves from someone the Republicans are trying to make politically radioactive.

I donated & phone banked for Harris. I knocked doors in Nyack to get Mike Lawler out of Congress (unfortunately he still won). I hate that people didn’t unify behind Harris. But we have to stay focused on winning. Mamdani is the nominee and it wasn’t close. We have to back him up!

NYC is a blue city. We chose Mamdani as the Dem nominee. If the party tries to do some kind of end run around our nominee, we’re going to have a huge problem.

He’s not a problem – he’s the candidate NYC primary voters overwhelmingly favored in a ranked-choice primary. The people have spoken.

The Democrats nominated Mamdani. Cuomo is the one leaving.

The word “liberal” is just a Rorschach test at this point. It’s a useless term because there is nothing close to a shared definition.

Okay. Just not sure why we’re pitting our rising stars against each other today. I was on the ballot as a Pete delegate in 2020 and voted Lander/Mamdani this year. My politics didn’t change.
