what sucks so much about the show ending imo is that they do win…by becoming schemers themselves. sansa basically becomes a cersei, bran a littlefinger, it really stinks. maybe that’s how the books would go if they finish too but that would also stink

you can make a pretty strong case that ned’s honor and people’s respect for it saved the lives of several of his children and positioned them for multiple strong campaigns of revenge/justice. and so in the long run the “good guys” might defeat the schemers

the thing about game of thrones books is there is there is a philosophical clash of how to be a leader where you have the backstabbing schemers like cersei and littlefinger and the honorable types like ned stark and jon snow. and while the schemers get the original upper hand, “the north remembers”

the author of the piece says it seems legal but I would make the case that this is wire fraud. I'm not super familiar with the case law around wire fraud and non profits and such but on its face, it meets the criteria in my mind set out in 18 USC 1343
