yeah that’d be a massive success if it wasn’t for the rising american fascist movement that had just attempted to overthrow the government, a major problem that they flubbed, which unfortunately overshadows all of that

and the opposition party is still largely run by the same coterie of electeds, donors, pollsters, strategists, etc now as it was then. doesn’t exactly inspire confidence in this voter that delivering them to power will actually accomplish all that much!

i mean it’s both. there’s a real burden on voters to deliver the opposition to power but then there’s a burden on the opposition to use that power appropriately for the task at hand. we are where we are in part because voters delivered them to power in 2020 and they catastrophically flubbed it.

the fact that many elected democrats seem intent on convincing the american public they will NOT bring any of those goals closer, that they don’t share those goals at all, is not on me, it’s on them.

my political goals include things like abolishing ICE, crushing american fascism, and jailing these corrupt and evil people who have caused so much pain and suffering. i only care about supporting democrats to the extent i believe their rhetoric or candidates will bring those goals closer.
