Another place where attendants have to clean up unwanted ceremonially deposited human remains is the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland. People are strange.

Does he understand that this is the equivalent of asking for a summary of a long-running serial (tv, manga, whatever)?
03.10.2025 20:22 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I hate talking to institutions on the phone because I always have to fight my way past a chatbot to get to someone who can actually understand my (complex and highly situational) issue in a meaningful way. If a chatbot could handle it, I would have already dealt with it directly on my own.
03.10.2025 20:10 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Sometimes when I'm writing a podcast script I worry about how much repetition of the same underlying content I do. And then I remember that most people don't go back and listen to the entire back catalog and I relax a little. (This assumes that I'm always getting new listeners.)

One consideration is that, in order to get the benefit of my phoneβs automatic βdo not disturbβ mode, I need to give it a fixed sleep schedule. And since I use the phone as an auditory sleep aid, itβs important that I donβt get disturbed by texts and messages from friends in other time zones.
03.10.2025 15:18 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Iβd never thought of that before. I may adopt it.
03.10.2025 15:11 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0As I move into my first Autumn/Winter of retirement, one important question arises: Do I continue with a fixed 7am wake-up time or do I shift so Iβm never rising in the dark? Interested in other peoplesβ (relevant) experience.

If you like Celtic fantasy, check out my two Mabinogi-inspired sapphic fantasy short stories "Hoywverch" and "Hyddwen" from the fantasy podcast Podcastle.

Alpennia #4 provides an independent on-ramp to the series, with the YA-flavored Floodtide, in which laundry maid and aspiring dressmaker Rozild becomes the catalyst for an unlikely team of young people trying to fight an epidemic.

All the continuing characters are joined in Alpennia #3 (Mother of Souls) by an aspiring opera composer and her Italo-Ethiopian boarder who can see, but not perform, magic.

Alpennia #2 is in many ways the book of my heart. In The Mystic Marriage, disgraced alchemist Antuniet finds her work and her heart tangled up with the Vicomtesse de Cherdillac.

But my most significant sapphic historical publications are the Alpennia novels (4 out of a planned 7-book series) starting with Daughter of Mystery (unexpected heiress and her cross-dressing bodyguard caught up in court intrigue).

The Language of Roses is a fairy-tale with a solidly historic setting. Beauty and the Beast with an aromantic Beauty and an unredeemable beast, plus a separate sapphic romance.

My most recent release is a collection (Skin-singer: Tales of the Kaltaoven) which weasels its way into "historical" by virtue of a pre-tech alternate world. Cozy shapeshifter adventure with a low-key sapphic romance.

While I have your attention about sapphic historical fiction, did you know I'm an author too? Let's do a promotion thread about that.

Also, you can view the articles online, but not download pdfs. And when I'm reading an article for research, I want to be able to highlight and take notes on the pdf. So even though I *can* access articles from home, I still take my thumb drive in to the university library periodically.
02.10.2025 16:46 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0While I have a brief flurry of attention re: sapphic historical fiction, Iβd like to remind people that the Lesbian Historic Motif Podcast puts out a monthly list of new book releases and does author interviews. Same for me β books 2-4 in a series are in the settlement while book 1, though in Libgen and otherwise eligible, is not. Curious.
