Does he understand that this is the equivalent of asking for a summary of a long-running serial (tv, manga, whatever)?

I hate talking to institutions on the phone because I always have to fight my way past a chatbot to get to someone who can actually understand my (complex and highly situational) issue in a meaningful way. If a chatbot could handle it, I would have already dealt with it directly on my own.

Sometimes when I'm writing a podcast script I worry about how much repetition of the same underlying content I do. And then I remember that most people don't go back and listen to the entire back catalog and I relax a little. (This assumes that I'm always getting new listeners.)

Adaptive technology can work wonders.

One consideration is that, in order to get the benefit of my phone’s automatic “do not disturb” mode, I need to give it a fixed sleep schedule. And since I use the phone as an auditory sleep aid, it’s important that I don’t get disturbed by texts and messages from friends in other time zones.

I’d never thought of that before. I may adopt it.

As I move into my first Autumn/Winter of retirement, one important question arises: Do I continue with a fixed 7am wake-up time or do I shift so I’m never rising in the dark? Interested in other peoples’ (relevant) experience.

And I have several historical stories available for free on my website, including "The Mazarinette and the Musketeer" and "Three Nights at the Opera" (an Alpennia story). (There's another Alpennia short story in the anthology Lace & Blade 4.)

Also, you can view the articles online, but not download pdfs. And when I'm reading an article for research, I want to be able to highlight and take notes on the pdf. So even though I *can* access articles from home, I still take my thumb drive in to the university library periodically.
