3) Jones says immigrants “have to adapt and accept the host culture”, yet his govt's culture is based on opposing environmental stewardship.
And all NZ govts & the monied class that backs them have used white supremacist views to tread on the values, resources & host culture of tangata whenua.

Ever since I came back to the UK I have been appalled and disappointed by the real lack of desire for anything like real inclusion in society. Rare are folk who want to sit uncomfortably .

And I’m going to say it again: real inclusion cannot be led by white straight able people. It cannot.

If you bought a nice bathroom vanity lately in Aotearoa drop ur recs. Bonus points if it isn't white, black, grey, or beige.

I don't currently have the words for my anger and frustration seeing climate events happen all over the motu and knowing - we could have been better prepared. We could have made different choices. People don't have to die.

I'm trying terribly hard to not be bitter.

It should be noted that the YouTube livestream of Seymour’s speech only had 178 viewers, and the audience in Christchurch sounded small from the applause.

It is likely Seymour will be relying on media dissemination of the speech - also why it’s vital talking points are not just relayed verbatim.

Between Dreams: Resistance and Representation in Asian Aotearoa | Te Papa This landmark collection presents fresh, progressive perspectives on what it means to be ‘Asian’ in Aotearoa.

The book is in press! HK Lennon Wall cover fuck yeah ✊ @keithng.bsky.social , harking back to Te Papa's first round of Asian activist materials collections. I wrote the intro & a few other bits & bobs. Can't wait to see how Grace has let our history speak through objects in the national collection.

Apart from everything else that’s wrong with the govt’s continued degradation of the original school lunch programme & its range of objectives, note that David “Attendance is paramount” Seymour has now done away with the objective of ‘providing healthy lunches to promote school attendance’.

This shit just reminds me of how surface level some journalists understanding is of local govt is - so you get these weirdo takes that don't really make the points they think they are.

And no, despite being mentioned in the article, I was not approached for comment.
