I’ve had chats w/publishers, editors, actors, writers, studio heads, marketers, influencers…

The common feedback: “shit’s broken.” Promotion no longer work as it needs to, or used to. Social media replaced advertising, but doesn’t work.

The only reason we keep doing it? Nobody has a better idea. 🤷

Racists always have the same arguments - invented statistics & a total misunderstanding of history.

Who failed them most? Schools? Their parents? Or were they just so committed to being the skid marks of history that they stuck their heads in the sand so their ideology dare not be tainted?

Rather than ask for a minute to wrap my head around it and come back in, I pulled a Buscemi. Not surprisingly, I didn’t get it. Beat myself up for WEEKS.

It happens. Dust off, take the lesson, conquer the next one. ❤️

At the c/b, I did what I was trained — the same take I had initially done. The director then gave me a note that was WILDLY different than how I had seen the character.

A Casting Director Asked Steve Buscemi ‘What Is Wrong with You?’ in Massive Audition Fail Steve Buscemi recently recalled failed auditions, something actors like Lena Dunham and Hugh Jackman understand all too well.

I prefer transparency w/clients, so I love this. We all have good days & bad. The trick is to learn to work smart + hard, so the good is easier. (See: fun)
