AAA games are locked into this cycle of spending infinity money on the wrong thing that churns out a lot of cookie cutter games that cut EVERY corner in all the places that actually matter towards the outcome (stuff like QA, varying the formula, novel interactions)

Games recently are so weird, why would any team or developer aspire to be part of the AAA scene anymore these days? And why would players seek them out?

By my reckoning indie games have more aspiration goals, are better polished, and often have more actual scope than AAA "equivalents"

When talking about the flaws of the education system here in the US, there sure is a wide menu to choose from. But lately I think our problems are less about what is taught, how it's taught, etc. and more about a culture which seems to pretend there is a point at which you are "done" with it.

My personal theory on where we're headed? Again to keep from spoiling anything, I'll just say that I think we're going to be increasingly asked to think about what it means to be Lighter than Light, if that makes sense to others who've played.
