Nina Schuyler @ninaschuyler.bsky.social has a fantastic newsletter called Stunning Sentences. She is doing an intensive this week with a sentence posted every day--getting to write my own sentence and responding to all the other writers' sentences is doing wonders for me this week.

This one made me cry. Painfully astute.

Years ago, a friend told me told me a piece of news was "shocking but not surprising" and it fits for this pivot.

Whole draft completed, though then a long period on revising beginning to middle, because until that was resolved, there was no point in revising the end.

Sentence Intensive Coming in September

Going to Target triggers one my biggest late-90's/early 2000's nostalgia. Target used to be so fun and had everything I could possibly want and more...now it's like shopping a weird mart that barely stocks anything.
(Except for the optical wipes, which are the best of any.)

It was a privilege to write my dad's obituary. Figuring out how to honor him while also being real about who he was (a character, but not always in the good way...) was a tremendous help in my grief. I heard stories from my mom I'd never heard before, and I'm so proud of how I captured him.

This is everything and terrible all at once.

Since it makes me feel so much better to read this, I'm gonna go with yes.
