Kuzey Kıbrıs'ta 777 sandıktan 735'i açıldı: Tufan Erhürman oyların yüzde 63,28’ini aldı Cumhurbaşkanı seçimine giden Kuzey Kıbrıs'ta 777 sandıktan 735’i açılırken, CTP Genel Başkanı Tufan Erhürman oyların yüzde 62,80’ini, Cumhurbaşkanı Ersin Tatar oyların yüzde 35,77’sini aldı.

Northern Cypriot Turks have today elected pro-federation candidate Tufan Erhürman for their new president by landslide victory. Erdoğan-backed Ersin Tatar, who promoted two-state solution for the divided island, has lost. Turkey still holds the key to any future talks. www.birgun.net/haber/kuzey-...

Erdogan’s Irredentism Just Can’t Keep Up As international norms crumble, Turkey’s revisionist policies appear less provocative in comparison.

My latest from @foreignpolicy.com

"Just recently, Turkey stood out for its repeated assaults on international norms. Now, those norms have been shattered by a host of bigger and more aggressive actors, and Turkey looks almost calm in comparison.

Bizarrely, Qatar has been bombed by Iran & Israel since June. It hosts a major US military base, which should deter such attacks but clearly isn’t.

In 2011, Qatar began hosting Hamas officials at the USA’s request.

And it channeled money to Hamas w Netanyahu’s blessing.

These are crucial details.

Some thoughts on the most recent assault on the CHP:

1) As the regime's loyalty test with the CHP fails to achieve the desired outcomes, the CHP leadership is exposed to accelerated and aggrevated forms of domination test.

The way I see it, it's a matter of time until the regime takes over the CHP. The task for the resistance is going to be to make the power dynamic obvious to the public. This isn't easy to do.

The unambiguous return of a single-party state to Turkey will coincide with the final end of the party that built its first such state. I have a lot of thoughts about this, one of them being that we’re here mainly because of the CHP’s inability to get out of its own way.

But I think about this guy now when I’m reading about investors who aren’t taking Trump’s policies seriously, whether economic or political. They are also hedgehogs, and it is their job to get a return. All this “other stuff” is noise, right up to the moment when it isn’t.

AI Killed My Job: Translators Few industries have been hit by AI as hard as translation. Rates are plummeting. Work is drying up. Translators are considering abandoning the field, or bankruptcy. These are their stories.

Since 2023, translators and interpreters have seen work dry up, rates plummet and their jobs reduced to editing AI-generated output. Some are leaving the field, others are considering bankruptcy. All despite any major upgrade in translation quality.

This is how AI is killing translation work:
