Got up and out early this morning to clear my head and caught the sun rising over the south flank of Mt Hood. This scene lasted only a second or two before the sun was too bright to get the shot.

How far you have fallen. This is embarrassing.

This is Kilauea, on the Big Island of Hawaii, and this eruption started in earnest this morning about 10:30 local time. When I first saw it with my own eyes, I was floored. Speechless. Emotional, even. It was unbelievably beautiful, powerful, and raw.

And this is why I no longer listen to NPR.

- Did not subvert the constitution
- Did not steal personal information from millions of Americans
- Did not pretend to rename an international body of water to stoke my ego
- Did not capitulate to Russia
- Did not threaten to commit war crimes

Please also provide webinars for the rest of the Democratic party on how to effectively communicate. They could benefit from your style. Keep it up 💪🏼.

Dems need a better comms strategy. We're getting our asses kicked in messaging.

I want to believe. They will need to show more backbone than they've demonstrated so far, but let's hope.

2. Senate Dems play constitutional hardball and obstruct everything

3. State AGs litigate (and prosecute) everything they can

4. Citizens march en mass

Then do something. Complaining on social media doesn't count. You were elected to represent people. Do something.

We need more Churchills, and fewer Chamberlains right now. I don't think most Democrats know how to wage this battle.

He was just fine with cuts to services that didn't affect him personally. When it's something he cares about, all of a sudden it must be some terrible mistake.

I visited Cape Disappointment on the Washington Coast on Saturday, just before high tide on a stormy day. I didn't capture the perfect wave, but there were some pretty cool looking shapes that formed as large waves came in and collided with the return from the previous wave.

Any minute now.
