An Ancient Grace

I am seriously LAZY. I lolled in bed until 1:00. Just starting to get moving. Many chores left from my Saturday ACLS affair. Michigan is doing it’s usual and it’s marvelously warm outside. I’m staying in my bubble. Puttering around and getting myself reorganized. Happy Sunday!

Home…and whipped. PJs and a dive into ACLS hooey…I am not excited…

Just flopped down in my chair in my lead…um, the darned thing farted…I’m totally cracking up.

I miss my 4F nursing staff. I don’t miss the job. I haven’t woken up in dread of going to see what fresh hell awaits since 1/8/2026. And it’s rather nice to not have a target (real or imagined) on my back. I’m still not used to a no drama work environment…

Why did I commit to doing an 8 hour ACLS class on Saturday? I just got an email from the place running it reminding me there’s a 2 hour review and pre-test that has to be done prior. Guess I know what I’m doing after work…

I’m tired. New lead came in and it’s about 20% heavier than the one I was borrowing. That said, I am fully amused by it…brilliant color splashed on black with a purple lining and neon pink seams and edging. It looks like the 1980’s exploded on it!

Well, it's another year that we didn't watch the Super Bowl-exactly zero interest.

Well, I thought I was going into Lansing for a hands-on class for our new Life Pack (crash cart equipment). I finished what I thought was mandatory and then looked for the-in person class, and it's gone poof. That works for me! I didn't want to bolt out at lunch time anyway.

I should just skip looking at the forecast…I am so DONE with weather! Another two inches of snow? Naaaah! I’ll pass…

Busy all day today. Getting the hang of the procedures. Haven’t been on my feet this much since I was working nights. We are allowed to wear tees on Friday. Um, I don’t own a single tee that either wouldn’t cause way too many questions or is definitely NOT work appropriate. I’ll just wear my scrubs…

Thursday. I need to get my arse into work and look up my cases. I didn’t have time to mess with it at work and didn’t want to when I brought it home. So much for being prepared…ack!

Busy waiting for some ibuprofen to do the job-my back HATES me right now. Busy doing chores and have totally crunched everything together. Thank heavens for a chiropractor appointment in the morning.

Another too cold to go outside day…and we have a very interesting procedure at 0800…and then another 12…it’s going to be a long day. I need to get in gear.30 minutes until I have to leave…

And here we have it, I need a teleporter to take me to work, because I DON’T WANT TO GO OUTSIDE! I’ll be glad to see double digit temps above zero in the morning, I know that much. Hopefully I got the satellite remote start reset.

I need to drag myself out of this chair and get ready for bed. Got almost all my online learning taken care of. I have my clothes together. Work’s a swirl, but I will overcome. The problem is I know enough history and economics to see what we’re on the edge of. That’s terrifying.

0645: Literally 27º warmer this morning, and I still have a case of no thank you! The windchill is still -10ºF. Adventures in Midwest winter. And it is snowing a little…just microflakes at the moment…not sure what we’re supposed to end up with.

I am not moving fast this morning. My last in person training session for the ambulatory Epic system is this morning. I have other things that need to be dealt with. Fortunately, the training center is near the UPS Store that I can return my wrong sized oops nurse shoe order on the way out.

Does anyone actually watch traditional or cable news anymore? I check the weather. I check BBC, APA and Reuters at the end of the day to try to just find out what happened minus the political slant. I can't stomach the chaos on the morning.

Not looking forward to the tundra this morning. 3ºF with a -9ºF windchill. The car is in the first round of warm up. I’m dressed and somewhat ready to go. No existential dread. I’m looking forward to work, but not the drive in. Or the stroll in from the parking lot.

First scheduled Monday off. I’m waiting for the chiropractor. It’s tundra weather. The roads are horrible. I have something respiratory brewing AGAIN. I need to kill it. Just strange to not have to participate in Monday mayhem. I’m not complaining.

Don’t go off if there’s a problem with an order. Don’t be an ass in general. It will lighten your day and definitely will give someone who has been dealing with jerks all day a much needed break. We all need an exhale day. It’s rough out there right now.

You know how we can improve the current chaos? Try to be nice to everyone you run into today. I don’t mean being nice to the government lynch mob, but just regular people. Smile. Don’t go off when you have to wait.

Today will be a week with NO drama at the new position. This is so unreal. Totally don’t know what to do with it. I’m still expecting chaos to explode any minute. Y’all, I don’t think I’ve dropped an F-bomb, other than getting my computer stuff set up, all week. This is unheard of.

It is so nice to not be totally stress maxed at work. I have lot to learn, but the anxiety about the political and leadership mess is gone. If I gotta pay for it with being a little uncomfortable while being ‘work hardened’ that is totally acceptable.

New work crew is great. The 15-20 pounds of lead apron, not so much. Knees behaved. Hips are not happy. I seriously hope I can move tomorrow. I have a class in the morning and am back learning procedures in the afternoon. I’ll get there, but that process is likely going to be uncomfortable.

Up and at it, I go back and fight the Epic monster again this morning. But, given I didn’t really know what I was getting trained on yesterday, I didn’t have my prep work done. Not the case today. Bring it! I’m not looking forward to the screen time headache, but not much to be done about it.

What an astrological day for a new job...Mars return while it's conjunct the Sun & Venus (WTH?), Pluto sitting at the midheaven, conjunct natal Venus-I think friend Pluto dropped this insane opportunity in my lap. That's just what's popped-I'm a student not a master! I'll pull a chart later...

Favoritism, targeted gaslighting, condescending language, focusing on minutia instead of systemic issues, trying to make those with valid concerns look like the its their fault, ignoring problem performance issues. It’s not the team. It’s the leadership. I have the receipts.

Absolutely nil for sleep. Worrying about the last day. My work ‘kiddos’ are already being fucked with. The gal taking my position is being set up to fail. I played automotive ‘fuck-fuck’ for 25 years. These people aren’t even good at it.
