Listen, I know "toxic" is a little dramatic but it can also be apt. I used to link build. It's big business for a reason, and the financial incentive still generates bad practices. I've been part of great campaigns, and I've also seen all sorts of justifications for bad links.

I went pretty in-depth on YouTube's algorithm. Imo it's a really good idea for SEOs to understand it even if you're not focused on video. It's a look at what a Google property does when it has complete control over the platform.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving I will make one (1) positive comment about LLMs:

They've made it very easy to identify overused language and clichés.

They build sentences with statistical probability. So if it "sounds like AI" that probably means it's overused.

I used to cook turkey with Delia Smith's method but last year I tried Padma Lakshmi's buttermilk brine recipe and it's so darn good. So I've developed a weird process somewhere between the two because I just can't give up Delia's stuffing.
