When I hear about these states gerrymandering to get more gop seats in Congress, I think “you know what, fellow white people? If we just vote like we love our neighbors they could gerrymander all they want and we’d still elect officials who look out for the poor, oppressed, imprisoned, and hungry.”

He can ignore the constitution and the courts. He can desecrate the Bible. He can literally destroy the White House. He can lie with abandon. Republicans in Congress - what will it take for you to stand up against this? You betray this country. You betray your people.

The party who lied loudly with claims of rigged elections is now openly rigging elections. Eroded our trust in our democracy in order to take it away. If Dems were in power no way would Repubs let this happen. If Repubs were patriots no way would they let this happen.

As an ordained Christian minister who believes we are called to love one another, reversing marriage equality would be a violation of my right to marry those whom God has brought together.

It is both deeply comforting and also heartbreaking to know the prayers we sing have been sung for decades. The problems and sins are not new. Neither is the source of our hope and strength for our journey through them.

“He’s on a mission from God” shouldn’t feel like a threat. If sounds like a threat and feels like a threat, it is a threat. God’s mission is not a threat. God’s mission is healing, justice, peace, and love. If it sounds like that and feels like that, then it might be from (and of) God.

Got accused of being paid by @aclu.org to protest at the #TeslaTakedown today. Can confirm that I was not paid (bummer, too, I could use the extra cash). I have another question: If people lose their jobs and social safety nets, how will they be consumers? Aren’t companies just shooting themselves in the foot? Are we still buying the myth of trickle down economics? Do we think tax cuts will replace consumers to keep companies making bank?

Is there someone who can explain shortsightedness to me? Even if republicans are happy now (which, topic for another post), giving Trump sweeping powers to do unconstitutional things means they set it up to be okay for every president who comes after? Even if they aren’t Republican?

Serious question for republicans in the house and senate: where is the line that you won’t let Trump and his executive orders cross? Do you know where it is? If so, you definitely need to share that with the whole class. We’re looking for your integrity to your oaths of office.

Indiscriminately firing people is unintelligent. Looking closely & carefully through every department and agency and finding redundancies and inefficiencies is intelligent when needing budget cuts. We all do this for our household budgets - we stop eating out. We don’t stop eating all together.

Just so I’m clear, yesterday Lutherans were money launderers for their care for people in need and so we need to cut their Congress-approved funding, and today we are standing up against “anti-Christian bias.” Do I have that right?

MAGA cheering ending US AID because we shouldn’t be sending resources abroad are also cheering Trump’s proposal to take over Gaza and turn it into “another riviera” and use US troops to facilitate. Make it make sense.
