Seems like almost every day now Trump does something to get the attention of people who don’t follow news or politics who are outraged, shocked, or infuriated. This guy has broken through to forums of people who don’t even care about politics & pissed them off. That’s hard to do.

Welcome to the world of selective enforcement, a hallmark of autocratic and hybrid governments. It doesn't matter if the underlying investigation has validity. Because the probe is not about the rule of law, but rather the concentration of wealth and power in the hands of allies of the regime.

I hope there's some way to decisively identify every single cowardly, sadistic perpetrator of these atrocities and indict them for anything and everything they could be indicted for

One of the things I hate most about Trump / Vance is how they try to associate themselves with things people like and in the process ruin it for people who worked hard to be there.

Let’s Not Sportswash Trump’s Authoritarianism The Olympics, the World Cup, and cheering for our nation’s athletes but not the current administration.

We will have to find a way to support our nation’s athletes without seeing that support co-opted by a president who claims nearly everything for himself, from prizes he did not earn to legal authorities he does not possess.

The US is traumatizing thousands of kids in detention camps. But we are also traumatizing *millions* of kids who are in hiding or fear their parents being snatched.

Like how we have tens of thousands of kids who have survived school shootings, and a whole generation shaped by active shooter drills.

There is a term for this I think

Trump's racism never hurt him in New York real estate, publishing, media, landing a network series, or in getting elected president, which is why I'm stunned to learn that he's still racist.

I cannot over-emphasize how important it will be for people to make a plan to vote early in-person this year.

1. It was not an accident.
2. It was not a staffer.
3. While the president may have dementia his racism is not due to dementia.
4. He isn’t sorry. He means every racist thought he shares.
5. His base agrees with him.
6. He will do it again.
7. No one in power will hold him accountable.

In a democracy, we are supposed to feel like we have control over our lives because the people control the government.

But in the U.S., people feel like our lives are out of control because the people don’t control the federal government.

The racist video posted by the President is perhaps the most egregiously racist thing shown in the White House since Woodrow Wilson screened Birth of a Nation there in 1915. Here's an article from Denver's Black newspaper in 1915 calling for Americans to denounce such racist imagery.
