Hell yeah! I always thought IdTech4 was underutilized. There was the Dark Mod (super impressive) but not much else until Skin Deep last year which showed it could be a great ImSim engine.

If you somehow had a chance to start over with Selaco, what engine (if any) do you think you'd use other than GZDoom?

It's why I held off so long on getting anything other than 60fps. And sure enough now that i have a 120hz screen, 60fps looks stuttery to me.

Little bit of disclosure though. In the screens and video I'm using the Reshade add-on "ShaderToggler" to remove the HUD. It's my biggest gripe so far. There's no in-game way to disable the mission objective that's always on the screen. So I took matters into my own hands

Decided to try out Recore this weekend. I feel like I remember this game getting shit upon when it came out, but tbh I'm kind of having a blast with it. Way more of a platformer and 'vania than I expected, mixed with kind of proto-Horizon open world mecahnics. Good stuff.

It's weird. I'll go out of my way to have unfiltered textures in most old games. Thief, Quake, etc. But for some reason games made in that original version of Unreal just don't look right to me without filtering, and I can't really explain why.

Just played the demo for @regularstudio.bsky.social 's MOTORSLICE. Man, that was cool AF. Felt great to control, lots of little hidden areas, great music. Just great all around. Only missed one secret drone out of eighteen in my playthrough, might go back and see if I can find it.

Yeah! Finished a couple years ago. Not too long after releasing the final version the lead dev Albert started working for Nightdive.

I've been liking the Steampeek integration in Augmented Steam. Not a perfect solution or anything, but it regularly recommends similar games that I wouldn't have found otherwise. Seems quite a bit better than Steam's default recommendations.
