We're aligning our fuel efficiency standards with the Europeans, which could open a bunch of doors around additional supply options/models. And we're bringing back the rebates.

Perfection, as ever, is the enemy of good.

The whole β€œno debt” thing tells me they think they get Canadian assets, but not Canadian liabilities, if they leave πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ.

It’s common in some professions. It’s meant to show you’re well-rounded and to give the interviewer a chance to ask questions that will let the interviewee show their soft communication skills.

Also, may I say that I don’t agree with people saying ICE and CBP need β€œmore training.” They’re doing exactly what this administration has trained them toβ€”impose a reign of fear in blue cities. They don’t need more training. They need to be ripped up root and branch.

Here in Ontario I think some school funding ties to a diagnosis (BSWD and Canada Student Grant?) It sucks that kids can’t just be met where they are regardless of diagnosis but that’s the world we live in.

I think that is key. Pollievre’s cadre has so many connections to the US admin, many voters question whether he even *wants* to be less reliant on the US. There’s a difference between recognizing the cold realities of geography, and embracing what the US has become (and wanting to follow?)

I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree on where the technology is at. In any event, there are many Canadian dual-use technology firms (including drone designers and manufacturers) who will benefit from increased defence spending and R&D grants.

I can’t speak for the previous poster but: upping defence spending to make up for 30 years of under investment, taking actions to fix procurement problems that people have been talking fixing for 25 years, getting Canada into SAFE, restoring trade relations w/ China & many more…

I love my profession deeply, but some of them are not covering themselves in glory these days. If a mob boss draws a sharp blade languidly across your palm and says it would be a real shame for you to lose your pinky, your headline isn't "Godfather rules out hacking off finger to settle debt."

for context here, you also have to remember that Canadian-Chinese relations *cratered* in the last few years as a result of Beijing's hostage diplomacy. That the Canadians now have more trust in China than the United States is quite an achievement by Trump.

It's worth remembering that Canada arrested Meng Wanzhou based on American demands, held her on US requirements, and released her once the US cut a deal favourable to the US.

US treated us like a vassal throughout, and what exactly did we get? Trade deals torn up, tariffs, 51st state.

Now you do! There are some v knowledgeable Jewish folk on here that do a great job explaining how certain Christian archetypes are harmful (and rooted in historically inaccurate beliefs. β€œPharisees” as a derogatory term is another). I highly recommend following Rabbi Danya Ruttenberg.

They’re being β€œaggressive” about it because this stereotype (greedy moneylenders) has been *explicitly* used to justify violence against Jews for centuries.

I agree with the thesis; the problem I have with this article is that it seems to think there is a β€œmake Canada stronger” button that government can push. The dependency on the US goes back a lot further than just the last decade. I also doubt the constitutionality of some of their suggestions.

Treatment resistant depression definitely makes exercise harder. But if you go for a walk and feel worse not better afterwards, there may be something else going on in addition to depression.

I suspect the insurance companies keep data on this. You get a discount if you have winter tires on. Like climate change, the insurance companies tend to be pretty data driven when it comes to underwriting risk.

Yes, and also population growth has been very high in the last decade compared to the US. It dramatically slowed at the start of this year, but prior to that I think as a percentage it was about double the US rate.

Hi Friends and #uglydogs family- I’m so sorry to push this again, because I know times are tough for all, but there were complications with Moneypenny’s surgery and we could really use funds to pay for continued treatment. Bella also has surgery scheduled for 11/18. gofund.me/0af266757
