It's getting late on Friday, so you know what that means: HHS has just updated its list of cancelled grants and programs.

The document went from 14 pages long to 42 pages.

Just an incalculable list of cancelled COVID-19 funding.

A molecular glue’ compound led to potent ChREBPΞ±/14-3-3 PPI stabilization, retained ChREBPΞ± in the cytoplasm, and efficiently protected Ξ²-cells from glucolipotoxicity while maintaining Ξ²-cell identity. @naturecomms.bsky.social www.nature.com/articles/s41...

We shows that molecular glues of the ChREBP/14-3-3 complex protect beta cells from glucolipotoxicity. This could lead to new treatments for Diabetes by preserving beta cell function. www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Devastating for scientists and their research, and everyone who benefits from that research.

I’m not sure if everyone outside academia is aware that a delay or β€œpause” in grant funding often means the researchers themselves are lost from the field, along with their expertise.
