So SCOTUS, with its fabricated-out-of-thin-air immunity doctrine, has actually made American presidents less accountable than LITERAL royalty.

When I see how many peopleβ€”especially left-leaningβ€”are still using X, it does make me feel a little crazy. Ethically, it seems so obvious to remove oneself from the machinery that Elon has set up there. Surely no reach provided by X is worth being complicit in that

Disagreeing on methods is inevitable, but why on Earth would you work so hard to get back to a point that abandoned whole categories of people instead of even attempting to fix very surmountable problems?

I regularly see people wondering how it's possible that there are so many musicians and writers and film makers and artists from a tiny nation like Iceland.

And the answer is really simple: State funding for art education and artists. I literally get a salary from the government to write books.

Just responded to a sighting of ICE on foot at nearby apartments. They’re out of the way and there’s a major snowstorm as we speak. Some of the worst road conditions I’ve ever seem; spun out my car trying to get there.

When I arrived 5 minutes after the call, at least 30 people were already there.

Thousands of institutions abandoned programs, ended or rewrote scholarships, closed down clubs and publications, all in pre-emptive compliance.

And you know why?

Mostly because they wanted to do it if they thought they could blame someone else for it.

IF YOU'RE UNEMPLOYED IT'S NOT BECAUSE THERE ISNT ANY WORK
JUST LOOK AROUND: A HOUSING SHORTAGE, CRIME, POLLUTION; WE NEED BETTER SCHOOLS AND PARKS.
WHATEVER OUR NEEDS, THEY ALL REQUIRE WORK.
AND AS LONG AS WE HAVE UNSATISFIED NEEDS, THERE'S WORK TO BE DONE.
SO ASK YOURSELE, WHAT KIND OF WORLD HAS WORK BUT NO JOBS. IT'S A WORLD WHERE WORK IS NOT RELATED TO SATISFYING OUR NEEDS, WORLD WHERE WORK IS ONLY RELATED TO SATISFYING THE PROFIT NEEDS OF BUSINESS.
THIS COUNTRY WAS NOT BUILT BY THE HUGE CORPORATIONS OR GOVERNMENT BUREAUCRACIES.
IT WAS BUILT BY PEOPLE WHO WORK. AND, IT IS WORKING PEOPLE WHO SHOULD CONTROL THE WORK TO BE DONE. YET, AS LONG AS EMPLOYMENT IS TIED TO SOMEBODY ELSE'S PROFITS, THE WORK WONT GET DONE.

Someone has sure already made this observation but the fact they can convert all those empty warehouses into prison camps means they could have converted them into housing, community centers, job training centers or, hell, libraries or schools all along. It’s always a matter of will not resources.

if it's a good point, just repost them when you can! quoting often becomes a technique to mediate on behalf for people not perceived as authoritative men, who don't actually require it! Or worse, to possibly even deliberately suck the likes away to your own post instead of the OP

I keep seeing people use the "It's not _____, it's ____" construction as a red flag for AI writing, and folks? We don't have to concede the concept of juxtapositions to the machines. It's a very useful rhetorical device, stop being weird about it.

You’re going to see this going around: the homepage proudly proclaims the articles are AI-generated.
That’s irresponsible. And relying on people to *correct inaccurate information* (maybe, later) instead of leaving pages empty is dangerous.
Do not source claims from there and do not spread it.

It’s genuinely astounding that the tech companies promoted this instead of pitching the entire product as an amazing software engineering automation tool
