I love living in a neighborhood with a corner store. People complain that they attract "loitering" but a lot of that is literally just friends, family, and neighbors of the shop owners hanging out in a natural spot they run into each other.

I stopped into my neighborhood cornerstore/gas station on my way to work this morning, and the workers had their 2 sons with them. The kids had made an "inside safe" soccer ball by balling up plastic bags, so it didnt damage anything on collision. They passed the ball with customers in line. So cute
