The four-meter long drawing I worked on this summer, finally finished.

Frustrated little dude gripping a pencil saying “how do I pack this down into something I can actually share?” While swirling rainbows labeled “INFINITE POTENTIAL” float around them. Little dude frowns at a tiny grey box, exclaiming “all that work for THIS?!” Little dude shoves the grey box into another little guy’s hands; Frowning, stomping off, and saying “Here you go, I made this, it sucks.” Second little dude cracks open the box, swirling rainbows project out onto their face. Second little dude stares in awe at all the swirling rainbows now floating around them.

Sometimes we’re unsatisfied with a thing we made because when it only existed in our head, we saw all the things it could have been and when it’s done we know all the things that it isn’t, but we can’t see the way it expands into a million new things when someone else unpacks it in their head. 🖊️🦑

I'll try posting my sketches, since I finished my sketchbook. It's not a great milestone, but it's a milestone!

The more things I've made, the less I've been interested in publicly criticizing the things that other people make, because once you make a few things you start to understand what a miracle it is that anything gets made at all

A spiny seahorse merperson with a very spiky face and fancy spiky jacket plays a tune on a large woodwind pipe, similar to a clarinet or recorder. He is accompanied by spiny seahorses with snouts that end in musical horns - DOOT DOOT!

A puffed up punk pufferfish merperson plays a tune on a pufferfish with spikes that end in pipes like a bagpipe. The mer-piper is covered in spikes, and has spiked up to the max by donning a spiky studded leather jacket and matching accessories. The pufferfish looks rather dolorous.

I love seeing artists I follow living happy, fulfilling lives. It's honestly my favorite part of social media, I see their art during the year and then bam! they are people like me and they are happy, getting married, having dinner, walking their dog, having kids... Congratulations!

Gosh, this piece is so old it's kind of embarassing. I think @bukkitbrown.bsky.social was the reference, but I hardly remember anything about it

Never had a tattoo, I can only imagine it means you have to take an appointment over and over until you learn the tattoo artist pattern and then understand half the image by lore scattered around the studio?

Personally the first one, I don't quite get the downpour vibe from the second one

My favorite part is the fact that there's a spell that kills people instantly, there's no way to stop it, it's extremely simple to use and they teach it to you in middle school

A little bit more polished, since it is the final boss. Man, skeletons are so cool.

A pile of gold and precious objects roughly shaped like a human torso, with three arms coming out of it. Where the head should be there's a floating skull with an ornate hat.

Second to last, Quartilius! I love constructs and unnecessary details, so this one was fun. I tried cramming lots of different treasures into the pile of gold, and the skull on top is a little bit cool and a little bit goofy. One of the designs I can say is certainly working!

One of my favorite, Maltheus, incarnation of rage! Despite his design being one of my favorite, it's hard to see the centaur body in this illustration. Maybe I should redraw all of the bosses now that I'm slighly better with composition.

In defense of D&D (that I personally stopped playing so it's just for the sake of talking) a lot of narrative games depend on the group, if you play with people that are not ready to improvise it can be a slog as well.
