Two Promethea moth caterpillars
New paper! If trees are closely related, does it matter where they are from to plant-eating insects? We raised >950 Promethea moth caterpillars on 14 Prunus species to answer that question. Turns out, it matters a lot! Non-native trees = Lower performance

Cover image: 4 ways to celebrate Native Plant Month
Participate in a weed wrangle: invasive species cause untold damage to our ecosystem and crowd out natives. Check with your local natural area for a garlic mustard pull or honeysuckle removal event.
Plant keystone native species: even if you only have a small space, you can make an impact! Choose keystone species, like our native oaks, maples, goldenrods, and asters to support the most wildlife.
Stay on the trails! One of the best ways to learn about native plants is by observing them in their natural environments. Many of these plants can be easily trampled though, so stay on marked trails.
April is Native Plant Month! 🌱
This month we'll highlight native plants and tell you about opportunities to support conservation efforts. Here's a quick guide to 4 ways (last one in comments) you can kickstart your support for native plants this month!

All grass lawns and invasive landscaping plants are out for 2025. Creating habitat for wildlife using native plants is in! Even small yards can make a difference when it comes to supporting native insects and birds.

I do, too. INPS is starting an account here and we'll join the general Native Plant feed, but it'd be nice to have something regional/state oriented to be part of.

I've got Caresource in Monroe Couty, too. I agree, it seems ok, at least if you're healthy.
