As Sophie walks out to the launchpad, the French flag on her shoulder and the ESA emblem on her suit say it all - national pride and European unity, together in orbit.

As DG of @esa.int, I couldn’t be prouder. Bon voyage, Sophie. Europe is with you every step of the way πŸš€

β˜„οΈ Our #ESAJuice team couldn't wait until February, when they will receive data on #3IATLAS from the mission's science instruments.

So they downloaded just a quarter of an image from its navigation camera to get a surprise sneak preview.

The cover image has a mosaic telescopic image of the andromeda galaxy in the background. At the top right the tudsat logo stands above neon orange text reading "open meeting". Below the galaxy it says WISE 25/26 in purple neon. a little opague purple and orange box in the lower left contains the date and location

The background is a telexopic shot of the moon with a plane crossing it. The tudsat logo sits at the top right. A speech bubble at the top and a cloud at the botton contain information also covered in the post.

⚑️Solar storm incoming! We are actively monitoring severe space weather events, occurring on 11-12 November. Severely disturbed geomagnetic conditions are expected to persist for at least 24 to 48 hours.

Illustration showing spacecraft A, probe B1 built by JAXA and probe B2, and the suite of instruments they each carry, alongside other important components. The instruments and parts are colour coded according to four categories: blue for Dust, Fields and Plasma (DFP) instrument suite, orange for Plasma instrument suite, red for other scientific instruments, and green for important components.

#CometInterceptor will be the first mission to visit a comet coming directly from the outer reaches of the Sun's realm, carrying material untouched since the dawn of the Solar System.

Part of #CosmicVision, Comet Interceptor is an ESA-led mission in collaboration with JAXA.
